Re: 69 GMC Build, 20s, Full Frame, LS, Bagged, Bodied
You guys are doing a great job. Starting to make me feel bad for wanting to part my truck out cause I know it could be just as nice as your guys.

Re: 69 GMC Build, 20s, Full Frame, LS, Bagged, Bodied
Thanks Pinky.
Headers, fenders and steering shaft parts are supposed to be here this week. Mufflers and power steering lines showed up yesterday. We are working towards having the steering all hooked up in order to change the design of the control arms. The more we look at the arms that we currently have the more we don't like them. The attached picture shows what the new lower will look like. |

Are those some of the ebay LS headers?

Re: 69 GMC Build, 20s, Full Frame, LS, Bagged, Bodied
Yes sir, they seem to be good pretty nice and have 3/8 flanges. We're probably going to have to modify them to move the flanges on the collector.

Test fitted the headers and cut the flanges off. Planning on extending them to get below the cab and using v-band flanges. The rest of the exhaust tubing showed up too.

Wow! you are killing it with the metal work. I think that's the first small window conversion I've seen on here. Love the custom work.

Re: 69 GMC Build, 20s, Full Frame, LS, Bagged, Bodied
Thanks guys! The window conversion is a bit more involved than we realized when we started out. The rear panel of the cab on the interior is quite a bit different between the small window and the big window, so the inner pillars need to be changed too. Jason wants to reshape the back of the roof anyway so it has more of a curve, so it was going to change eventually anyway haha.

Got some more done on the back wall last week.
Also picked up a 4 speed Saginaw trans and some good gauges for the impala dash at the Carlisle spring swap meet. |

Thanks guys. Going to get these panels welded in and start on the roof next. Going to try to make a new panel to round out the rear of the roof.

Re: 69 GMC Build, 20s, Full Frame, LS, Bagged, Bodied
Started working on the last major piece for the cab this weekend, rounding out the rear of the roof.
Getting some shape in the panel with the english wheel. Center section shaped and tacked in. We were going to make it out of one piece, but the english wheel is an art thats still being learned, so it will be three pieces. A little more welding but oh well. |

Re: 69 GMC Build, 20s, Full Frame, LS, Bagged, Bodied
Been slacking on the updates lately.
Roof/rear window is mostly welded and looking good. New TB and valve covers New upper and lower control arms are finished. I dont think we took any pics of the lowers in progress that I can find. Welded up uppers. And with the suspension back on it, we rolled it outside for the first time with the body on it! Dont mind the temporary bag mount gussets haha |
