Re: Blazer SPID thread?
Thanks for posting Morey - I'll have to run a tally and see. Have my eye on a one-owner K5 near Tijeras and will keep you posted regarding that. Best, Pete

Re: Blazer SPID thread?
Man, I'm envious, if you have to get back to me after counting! Realizing that I have enough cool vehicles that i'll probably never get to, I've posted quite a few on different sites. Old Military Power Wagons, mid 60's GM pickups, etc.
Anyway, if you'd like, I'd be glad to go put an eye on one for you. Don't worry, I'm trusting and not the kind of person to steal, in ANY manner. It would be my way of showing friendship. Morey

Re: Blazer SPID thread?
1971 2wd. Since you guys are intent on calling Cheyenne optioned Blazers CSTs, I know, CST became the Cheyenne but are there examples of Cheyennes with CST badging?

Re: Blazer SPID thread?
Quote:
The uplevel Blazer trim was offically RPO Z84 Custom Sport Truck or CST (69-72). They were badged as "CST" on the doors and the glove box so I don't see how Cheyenne comes into the equation on a Blazer. It was only in the later (post 72) square body years that a Cheyenne badge could be found on a Blazer's flanks. As far as Z84 trucks go 69-70 were fender badged as CST/xx in most cases and for 71-72 they were badged as Cheyenne/xx again in most cases. The alternative being a CustomCamper/xx fender emblem 69-71.

Re: Blazer SPID thread?
No, not mixing - many of the '72 SPIDs above list Cheyenne Equipment, none with Custom Sport Truck. Pretty sure I read somewhere that they changed CST to Cheyenne between 71 and 72 models. Maybe it's only DEADHEAD NM calling the 72 Cheyenne Blazers CSTs.
Hmm, the picture didn't come along with the quote but the SPID shows Cheyenne.....

Re: Blazer SPID thread?
Cheyenne and CST are the same option. (Z84) On 71 and 72 trucks they are labeled Cheyenne. The blazers are labeled CST. I have two cst blazers. They are both listed as cheyenne on the spid. Whenever referring to options, especially paint codes, always go by the RPO number, as a lot of things have more than one name, which can cause some confusion.

Re: Blazer SPID thread?
Turp, that's pretty much my point...71's are CSTs on the SPID, 72's are Cheyennes on the SPID. What I originally asked is if 72 Blazers have CST badging or not, even though they are actually a Cheyenne and not a CST. So both of your Blazers are 72s, right?

Re: Blazer SPID thread?
Sorry. I missed the fact that you were referring to 72 Blazers only. I didn't even realize that the 71's had cst on the spid! 72 Blazers are badged as CST, even though the spid says Cheyenne. Hope this helps.

Re: Blazer SPID thread?
Turp has it right. They were Z82 CST, the SPID line item description is unfortunately often the least accurate information on a SPID with variations between years, plants and formats. Even within a given model year, especially at St Louis.

I see a lot of these with F76 - front wheel lock hubs. What does it mean that mine doesn't have that code?

Hey Mike
still above ground, so any day I get out of bed is still a good day. Still have all of them Except the blue one ( parted) have been tinkering with the green one last month or so. The 2 post lift makes life so much easier but I still cant work very long before the neck gives out. Richard

Maybe yours was a full time four wheel drive. I know later years came that way. |
