a few more updates, shift linkage is done and the steering linkage is mocked up and just about ready for set screws.

Re: Jer's 64

Really nice looking build, motor sounds great with the Borlas. Thanks for the pics on the steering shaft, I'm running a touring dropmember on mine with an LS and was worried about the shaft.

thank you! the 30" steering column helped to reduce the angle. I could have gone with a 1 piece shaft and used a double u joint but I would've had to grind the frame and upper hat a bit to provide clearance.

They look great on the truck, and really like the charcoal against the yellow.

Re: Jer's 64

had my driveline shortened and installed it last night but had a little issue, I couldn't get the u joint to seat fully. is the u joint to big or do I just need to add a little more persuasion?

Re: Jer's 64

You either have the wrong U-joint or the caps aren't on all the way. The caps should be in between those little tabs at the base of the yoke.

thanks, you were right! One of the needle bearings fell in between the cap and the u-joint which prevented the cap from going on all the way. I wouldn't have even thought to look at that w/out your post!

Re: Jer's 64

haven't updated my thread in a while, but I got this driving! I had some problems with it going into limp mode when I hit the throttle, but I got the PCM re-tuned to account for the plastic pedal assy in the '06 and everything seems fine now.

Re: Jer's 64

had a local shop redo my front brake lines for me and install my PB hood brackets. Also had to replace my trailing arm crossmember for additional driveline clearance.
