Re: 70' gmc swb "texas touch"

Did someone say red?

About your door assembly, do you think it was easier to put it all together off the truck? I'm about to assemble my doors and I was planning on installing the trim but not the glass or door panel until it's hung. You have me thinking it may be easier to put it all together then hang them?
I know it's a pain to put the vent window and glass in them no matter how you do it.

The red armrest works better. It will blend better and not stop the visual flow.

Lookin good!

I debated also, but for me it is easier to install the glass and vent with the door laying down......"much easier"!!! I have tried it both ways, and it takes me half the time with it laying down.

Re: 70' gmc swb "texas touch"

Red seems to be the winner, I finished the last door today.......so now here is that door with red armrest. Oh, Mike/mcbassin,....it only took me and my son 10 minutes to install the glass and vent with the door laying down on a work stand.

Great start! These trucks are one big canvas for us to work our magic. For me, I just wanted to change the accent/trim color from fawn to red. I have seen two or three trucks on this site with all red interiors that are "SWEET". Make sure you post pics of yours when complete.......

Man that Red looks great on the doors. Your making me wish I went with a red interior again instead of black.

Thanks Z10!! Building the truck to just drive, it is not show quality, "see you around town". I will look for yours at the 4th show........

If I redo the seats, I am looking at black surround with red/black hounds tooth inserts. That will come after the LS3 install. Right now, I just want to finish this stage and drive it (it has been year)...."thanks for stopping in"!!

Texas Touch is back together!! Not perfect, but it works for me. Still have a punch list to do, and that first coat of wax/polish to do. I will post more pics when the "spit and shine" is done.....
