Re: Blazer half cabs

Does anyone know if there is somewhere that you can still purchase these half cabs or even full top?

Re: Blazer half cabs

There is a guy on here that had the original Molds and was going to try to build them again. I think He had a hard time finding a glass shop that was willing to do the work. I'll look but I used to have a link to another guy that was also building them custom but they weren't cheap. I used to have one where the guy cut up the original full top and worked the back hatch into the front half of the top. Looked pretty good but I wanted to be fully topless because I had my kids and they all wanted to ride in the blazer too.

Re: Blazer half cabs

I personally don't like the way these look. It reminds me of when guys try to cut a long bed down to a short bed and they don't get it right.

Yes, his board name is Boneyard, but he was having
issues last i heard with Glass guy, and also his health.

I have had 3 tops (1 Pacesetter, 1 MTP, and 1 Custom)
and find used ones on average of 1-2 per year. Used is
cheaper, but not by much. Sexy guy linked above quit
making them last I heard / and was asking too much.

No offense, but that looks like a Korean knock-off of a Blazer.

Do you have a line on new weather stripping for the MTP half-top? Mine is shot...

Thanks, Rg

I think the images are squashed a little and make the Blazer look too narrow and tall or fat in the middle.

I have an MTP top that needs paint. I need door and front seals and the rubber around the back window has a gap at the bottom. I never sat it on my Blazer but I'm afraid the hi-back Dodge Durrango buddy buckets are gonna hit the back window. Have the original seats that need recovering. MORE $$$$ !!
PO made a soft half top that closes up pretty good. Uses a cut out inner foof from a pick up to give it shape. 15-20min. install time and I think it's ugly. Maybe because of the Gaylord's hard bed cover but topless in the rain is AWFUL. In a regular convertible as long as you don't stop you don't get too wet. In the Blazer rain blows onto the inside of the windshield from behind(back of my head too) just about as hard as outside. Wipers and defroster on high and I'm flyin' blind.

Re: Blazer half cabs

I passed on one of these at a swap meet about five years ago because the guy wanted 1800.00 for it( I thought that was a crazy price). in a way I should have jus bought it because I have been on the hunt for one ever since. I don't think they were very common up here I Canada. It would be a nice alternative to the full roof.

Rg,

Sorry just saw this, hardly ever on this site much.

Some of the seal are same as a Single Wall, might
want to contact a board vender and go from there.

Thanks, I figured I'd have to make something work from a full top.

I pm'd him and offered to buy the molds, no response.

Could sell probably 8-10 of these right now, get offers
all the time on mine. I also have a machine shop lined
up to make the bulkheads as well. I just need molds !

Re: Blazer half cabs

What was the cost range to have the bulkheads made? The one I have has some rust. Not a lot - but enough where I would ask how much to replace it.

Re: Blazer half cabs

They chopped out the back window for the rollbar. Kinda kills it as it would need a lot more work to make it a half top again instead of just a sun roof.
