There's also a difference between 'over-looked' & not concerned about. They built it the way they wanted to & you get to build yours the way you want.

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.

The power windows are from Electric Life. On these trucks, they are actually easier than re-building the stock window mechanisms.

Thank you. It looks a little pricey but I bet they are well worth it. I'll have to save up. THESE?

Really? What about this truck says it is an accurate recreation of how it left the factory?

Re: Roadster Shop / Craftsman C-10 Muscle Truck Build

I didn't comment to stir up arguments. It was a simple comment pointing something out. Paint the window frames hot pink for all I care. Heck, go even further and change everything, then it'll truely be a custom truck (not Chevy, just custom). Painting the inside of the window frames the same as the cab's interior allows the entire interior to blend, why did Chevy do that? I'd guess and say it looks more natural.

As low as your track truck looks in the pic (post #88) is it conceivable to drive a truck with one of your chassis' on the street everyday? I guess it would be comparable to driving a newer 'Vette with regards to ground clearance?

You bring up a good point that we hear a lot. The simple answer is 100% yes. Since it is a chassis we have engineered for not just track use but street use (and everyday use if desired) we factor in usability and indeed serviceability from the start. The lowest point on the chassis is 5.125" from the ground.

The FAST TRACK chassis like the one on this truck is something that actually takes people by surprise when they ride in it - especially with the performance potential. It takes a minute at first for you brain to catch up, if you are used to being in old vehicles, that you have the wonderful noise and feel of the older ride, but without the grimmacing and 'bracing for impact' you get with the ride that normally accompanies it. One would normally expect it to crash through dips and tramline, bumpsteer etc when in reality, it genuinely rides with ride dynamics and drive-ability of a new car.

Re: Roadster Shop / Craftsman C-10 Muscle Truck Build

Agreed 200% move on if you have nothing good to say! if you want an all factory truck with factory hubcaps, orginal paint and a inline 6 + 3 speed trans move on this is not your cup of tea! Most if not all these trucks get modified in some way shape or form on I would say 99% of all the builds on this whole fourm! So the 1% isn't worth being here to stir up garbage and talk about what dreams other may have or get idea's from it's how we or most of us learn new stuff and all enjoy this hobby as much as those who seem to want to toss their 1% of anal comments in that drives these type of companies away from posting for the 99% to enjoy and watch as one bad a** C-10 is being saved from the crusher and is going to a good cause!

God Bless all those that enjoy a hobby and a life without voiding other's time and hard effort/work it takes building on this level....

Kev....

I'm not sure why some of you are so compelled to rehash the subject, just for the sake of it. Keep bickering or bashing on stock restorations that exist on this site (at a high % I'd think) and see how it fares with site affiliated vendors.

The point you're missing is no-one seems to be bashing "stock restorations" as much as they are trying to say there's nothing wrong w/what was done to the doors for this particular build.

You like 'em done 'correctly'. Others may not care (especially on a build of this nature). Don't sweat it.

Looking good! You may already be aware of this, and did it by choice, but wanted to mention those polished headlight bezels are 71/72 bezels. Correct for a '69 would be black. The parts vendors typically just sell 71/72 bezels, and try to pass them off as being correct for 69-72. I'd have your paint guy take the ones you've got and shoot them black
