Put my new springs in today. This is the frame before.

And mocking up the new springs. Supposed to be four inch drop springs.

To get an accurate measurement, you're going to need to have the bed installed and be at close to your final weight on the rear suspension. I think you're going to be OK.

I am pretty happy with the look... and we shall see what the final looks like after we get the bed and some real tires and wheels.... I was worried about going too far with 4"....

Spent some time today working on my door panels.

Notice that one of them has holes for the arm rest. That has to go.

Little bit of welding.

Little bit of grinding.

Little bit of filler.

Little more sanding, ready for primer and paint!

Ok, so now I need some help.

How do I get the gas tank mounts out?? Obviously there are two bolts that come up from the bottom, but it looks like the mounts are spot welded to the rear of the cab.

I think they are spot welded to the floor as well... IIRC 66Farmer did the cleanest removal of those that I have seen on this site.

If you dont already have a spot weld cutter, you may want to get one.

If you never used one before, here are a couple of tips:
A light hammer and a sharp punch will usually give you enough of a indent for the weld cutter to ride in until you get a good circular channel started.

But not always, so keep another drill handy with a bit in it that is just a tad larger than the spindle on the weld cutter. This will give your weld cutter the stability over uneven spots to get the job done.

On the back of the cab be very cautious when cutting else you will be plugging holes you didnt need to (I tried using an air chisel and learned the very hard way).

Remember the spot weld cutter is sharp, and fast, if you are not paying 100% attention you will cut dime size holes clean through both layers of steel. In my tiral and error learning I found that it was better to under cut it, and tap tap tap with a chisel between the two welded pieces, than it was to cut all the way thru.
