I can do that this weekend or you can come over and see it. The seatbelts aren't good.

Re: The "Wrecker"
I was crawling around under the 85 flatbed and saw this brake valve. It looks like a sort of progressive proportioning valve. It has the hydraulic line running to it then feeds the rear brakes. It is mounted to the frame and has arm that goes to the axle.

Re: The "Wrecker"
Alan, it is a load sensing valve. Keeps the back wheels from locking up when it's unloaded. Then after a while they go bad and people take them off.

Re: The "Wrecker"
With Shannon's assistance, tree, chain and come-a-long we slid the flatbed off.

Alan
I might have missed it, but what are your overall plans for the donor? Use the complete chassis and just swap bodies or something else?

Re: The "Wrecker"
The 85 suspension is temporarily hung with a few bolts.
Motor and trans waiting to go in once it gets some paint.

That's pretty much it. I'm also going to use the hydroboost off the 85

Re: The "Wrecker"
I dropped the donor engine/trans in temporarily. I was thinking of making the hydraulic clutch work. The trans mounts are different. The late model trans mount is at tail shaft. The 68 trans mounts are in bell housing. I could have swapped the trans crossmember but then I will have the PTO clearance issue.
I pulled the trans and clutch to inspect. The throw out bearing came out in 3 pieces (not good) and the pilot bearing is toast I wanted to use the later model engine mounts but it seems to raise the engine up and pushes it back and the trans won't bolt up. Left over parts
