Re: Motorcycle to go with C10

Saw this Pan at The Nugget car show during Speedweek and couldn't keep my tongue off the pavement...but I'm almost as consumed with 60's styled Harley's as I am old trucks. It was in the back of an original paint, lowered '59 El Camino.

Re: Motorcycle to go with C10

I like the old with the modern theme. I always get tons of compliments on the truck and bike while at the track, though I could do without the 3 hour drive home after a full day on the roadrace course with the bike.

Exclamation Re: Motorcycle to go with C10

Wow ~ a 'K ' model ! .

For those young pups who don't know : those old flat head 750 C.C. Harleys tore up the dirt tracks when I was a kid then the iron head XR's came in and were even faster.....

Most think of Harley - Davidsons as plodding Cruiser / Touring Rigs . they can be but there's plenty of fast ones too ~ I rode a 1937 EL KnuckleHead 61" and a 1965 FL PanHead LC 74" all over and they didn't ride on trucks like the poseurs do to - day .

My dream bike is a bone stock '57 K Model to ride , ride and ride some more .

Wow! Two street K model Harleys and what looks like a KR! I learned to ride on a 1957 K model in 1963. I wasn't old enough to get a license but I did ride it in several woods trials in Daytona Beach.

Lets not forget that the legendary Evel Knievel switched from Norton's to a Harley Davidson XR-750

Thumbs up Re: Vintage Motocycles

Ever so slight topic drift here :

Vintage Motos are fun and easy to do as well .

If you stick with Hinda Tiddlers , they're amazingly cheap and the Lifan engines are license built in China , having very good reliability , shop carefully as there are two different bolt patterns so it's easy to buy a cool engine that won't fit your old CT90 (or whatever)'s frame .

They often have AutoClutches , this weird and wonderful thing allows you to have a manual transmission that shifts when you step on the clutch pedal ~ no hand clutch means you can hoon it and engage in all manner of tomfoolery , fairly safely .

Of course , they are available with manual clutches too .

The original engines are dead simple to rebuild and parts easily available OEM via Beatrice Cycle AKA : DR ATV ~ most of his stuff is original HONDA parts no longer imported by Honda N.A. for some foolish reason .

Re: Motorcycle to go with C10

I will have to vote for the Honda ct70's . I will say I am partial to these bikes because I have restored four of them. They are going to be in the back of my truck, when I find one to restore.PS sounds like a couple of little Honda members here to.

I think I would prefer a Harley FLHX and or a '65 Schwinn Fastback 20" 5 speed...
