Re: Our new shop - AKA Barnasaurus
Toyota project completed. I sold it to a co-worker since my wife decided she didn’t want to drive it anymore. The accident scared her more than I thought. She felt she could have avoided the accident if the truck had ABS. She is most likely correct. My co-worker slapped on a quick paint job. Not too bad considering less than $400 spent total for fender, hood, bumper, valance, miscellaneous hardware, and paint. He’s happy, the wife is happy, so everybody is happy. Although I must admit, I had mixed emotions in letting it go. Both my boys learned to drive in it and cut their teeth in it driving to high school.

Re: Our new shop - AKA Barnasaurus
Finally back making some progress on the shop’s interior.
Installing wainscot on the bottom 4 feet of the shop walls with leftover material (will still need to purchase a little more to finish): The loft: More to come in the next week or so.

Re: Our new shop - AKA Barnasaurus
Hello Wayne,
The shop is looking beautiful. Yes it can be emotional letting loose of a vehicle that has been in the family for a while but as long as everyone is happy, especially the wife, all is good. Take care and keep up the great work there, Tom

Re: Our new shop - AKA Barnasaurus
Thanks Tom!
Got more wainscot and the loft decking installed a couple of weekend ago. My contractor will be working on the stairs and railing this weekend. Will post up progress pictures soon. I finally took a half day off work last Saturday afternoon and met up with my wife at our local 49th annual 'Peanut Festival’ where she had entered Nancy in the car show. It was a good time with outstanding weather. We had fun meeting and talking with other car/truck people. Nancy even managed to win an award.

Re: Our new shop - AKA Barnasaurus
Wayne,
Congrats to you both on the award and the building. I have 9 of a similar light that I got from a friend that does demolition on old buildings. I'm planning to use them in the barn I build(if I ever get to build it). Thought I'd share a picture of it! Its dirty in the pic but they are indoor lights from along time ago.

Those are great looking light fixtures and will look killer in your barn. Call me sentimental, but I really like it when old stuff like your fixtures can be recycled. Thanks for sharing the photo.

Re: Our new shop - AKA Barnasaurus
Thanks Tom! I appreciate the compliment.
I got a call from an advertising company located in Arlington Texas last week. They came out Monday with a sky lift and professional photographer to shoot Barnasaurus. Seems my contractor showed some pictures of the building to the Mueller buildings branch office/warehouse in Sherman Texas. Well I guess those pictures made it to corporate because it appears my building will be in their next national sales brochure according to the advertising outfit. I say appears because I don’t know for sure if this is really going to happen or not. One thing promised was a copy of all the photos taken on a CD so that will be cool enough for me because I was able to see some of the shots the photographer took and they were really good. Hope to get started on the 12x20 room on the loft along with some railing soon.

Thanks Sickfast1964!
I work weird hours but am generally free on Sundays and Mondays. If you are serious about checking out the building send me a PM. I would be glad to show it to you.

Re: Our new shop - AKA Barnasaurus
free, if you don't figure in the cost of steel mezzanine, stairs, framing, electrical, plumbing, insulation, sheetrock, etc...
everything is free then

Re: Our new shop - AKA Barnasaurus
I knew what you meant - "Additional useable space".
Ogre is right, it's not free. The steel for the mezzanine, stairs, and railing was just over 5K. I'm not bragging - I'm complaining. Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving!
