Re: Skymangs...Old Sarge Customs shop fire?
Glad to hear he's home. Been reading all about ADs here for the last few days and most of it was Skymang's threads. I had no idea this happened until I read his 33 thread which was the last one I read. Haven't heard anything on his boys but hopefully they're doing as well as can be considering. I'm from MO as are a lot of people here. If there's anything we can get together and do for him, that would be cool.

Re: Skymangs...Old Sarge Customs shop fire?
I spoke to Chris over the weekend. He was in good spirits. He is in rehab and said he was making progress. Still not back to 100% and has a ways to go by what I could tell.
He told me he was hoping to be back in the shop sometime mid summer and was planning on going to be at the all truck nationals. He has always been driven and I'm sure he is going to do everything to do this. I wish him all the best of obtaining this goal. He still needs your prayers. It was sure great to hear from him. Re: Skymangs...Old Sarge Customs shop fire?
Glad to hear it. Hope Chris gets back to normal activities soon!
For the sake of him and his family of course. But meanwhile his talents and contribution are sorely missed on this forum :-) |

Re: Skymangs...Old Sarge Customs shop fire?
I saw this come across Facebook. I didn't know Chris personally but traded a few messages with him. He helped me get started on my S10 conversion project and was always really helpful and willing to share information. I hope his recovery continues.

Re: Skymangs...Old Sarge Customs shop fire?
I know this was almost a year ago and I've never visited the site "GoFundMe" but if one were to donate now does it still reach it's intended destination. I joined this site about a month ago and had no knowledge of this accident until today but good people like Chris don't come along often and I'm curious if the GoFundMe site is still a good way to help from "afar".
Thanks |

Re: Skymangs...Old Sarge Customs shop fire?
What a pleasure it was to actually see Chris in the video today. IMO a person who appeared to give his all to help us in our AD/S10 projects. We finally found out from Chris himself what caused the accident and being Chris trying to help, he went back into the fire to try to save a customer truck. What a guy. Chris, I wish you continued success in your recovery. Clay

Re: Skymangs...Old Sarge Customs shop fire?
Way to go Chris..keep the faith..very moving ..I know partially what he is going thru..
About 10 yrs ago I had 5 gallons of gas blow up in my face..2nd and 3rd degree burns..i lost all the skin and hair on my head and all the skin off the back of my right hand..i was a horrific sight for quite a while...they said static is what got me..it was just a fireball then it was gone or it could have been much worse..luckily I had on heavy clothes ..a couple of years after that, while at work, i got splashed on the leg and foot with melted plastic ,3rd degree burns, that resulted in me having to get skin grafts all the way around my leg at the ankle above my boot..moral of the story is don't take shop saftey for granted... |

Re: Skymangs...Old Sarge Customs shop fire?
Glad to see he is improving. I meet Chris on the Hot Rod Power Tour in 2013. We actually got together and ran some and even took some pics of our trucks all sitting there. I believe this was his sons truck. He is a very nice guy. Pulling for you. https://www.facebook.com/25283867365...type=3&theater
