We finally got onto the next phase of finishing the Cannonball project, which meant that the cab for this truck got freed up again. So we are back to two separate trucks

If you want to see the progress on the pro-touring truck aka Cannonball then you'll need to go back to its build thread.

Since we had everything off the original chassis already we decided to pull the 350/Turbo 350 combo and drop in the original LS3 I had for the Cannonball project. We found another TR6060 transmission to bolt up, which works out well as the cab tunnel is all setup for this transmission.

And now its sitting in my garage where I've been tinkering away at the somewhat long list of things to get this back up and functional. Well its down to just waiting on a driveshaft, and getting the brake lines in and bled before this thing is back cruising.

Since there was some time to kill I dropped in an ASA cam and upgraded springs for the LS3. We used the headers and 3" downpipes from the other truck and connected in some nice Borla mufflers so this thing sounds really good now.

Haha yeah. Fortunately that one is a reproduction so I have the original trashed "patina" ones on the wall in the garage still.

It should be entertaining to drive. It has a non-posi 12 bolt in the back right now with a damaged shock on one side and missing the shock on the other. Definitely a blend of old and new hahahaha

Unfortuantely I don't have many photos of it under construction. I know it was a crap-ton of work for Wes to do, and he doesn't have a lot of interest in doing another one

He started with another floor cut out of a pick and pull truck and pie cut each section individually. I have a few more photos on my photo bucket account:

It looks ulike you have sanded to let more of the original paint shine thru. Your other truck is over the top but I really dig this rig too!

If you're ever underneath the bed and happen to have your phone or camera with you it would be great if you could snap a picture of the underside of that.

I did the floor of my 67 like that years ago so I understand the amount of work. I really like the way his 'transitions' have a gentle curve/radius vs the way mine was done (sharper 45° transitions).

I was reading over this build and fell back in love with this truck. I had a 74 with the same blue on white. Loved the look of that truck. It was a fully loaded C10 for that year, lol. I should have kept it but sold it to a friend some parts live on though. Killer truck.

Small update on the blue truck. It's currently parked at the side of the shop waiting for some love. We finally got tired of bottoming out with the stock crossmember and the rear end was borderline dangerous with a potential cracked spring and no shocks. Wes is trying to decide which way to go on the rear end...4 link with a solid axle, or some kind of Corvette derived IRS. Front will get a custom crossmember. It may be a few months before this thing sees the road again.
