Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.

Got the 14 Bolt rebuilt with new gears and bearings. Hung it and installed the very heavy stabilizer bar. Now on to the backing plates and drums. Hope to have it back on wheels very soon. Then it is cab finishing time.

Thank you guys!!!

Started rebuilding the rear backing plates. This axle was all original and low miles. You can still read the GM part numbers on the brake shoes and backing plate. Also hate trying to hang these large brake shoes under the body....Got one side done. Waiting for the other wheel cylinder to get here. Putting in the rear metal brake lines on a motor home 14 bolt is a pain in the rear...

Thank you. I don't mind doing rear end work. Getting this pattern was painful, took me a few days and I got all the specs in line. The gear set had axial runout which threw the pattern off in other sections of the ring gear. I got it down to .001 and a better pattern. It was a AAM ring gear set.

Re: Re-Open the Open Roads

So I finally got the wheel cylinder for the driver rear in and got the brake shoes mounted. Bleeding this thing is going to be fun. Started back on the cab. Do it from the bottom up. Few tools and the bottom cleaned up pretty good. Once some holes are repaired, then put some epoxy on it with a final coat of black Raptor on the bottom and fire wall. Should have it done this week if everything goes good.
