Re: Patina love
That's the "universal" later model pattern. One shape will fit all car lines, so there will be more compatibility.

Re: Patina love
Got a pile of powdercoated parts to start assembling back from along with all the rest of my front suspension goodies. Gonna completely replumb the front line and considering that nicopp brake line vs steel. The new master has 2 front ports vs 1 port down to a “T”. So i i should probably do them individually. Any pointers? Oh an damn that master/proportioning valve is slick but close to column linkage. Has about 3/8” clearance but pics arent the best

Re: Patina love
I hear ya. Little 6 runs like a top. But i do have an all aluminum LS i been gathering parts for. Just got heads back today. Miss that old school chop i grew up with. As soon as i got it built this old girl will up for sale and go down the road to a needy engine bay.

Re: Patina love
Driveline in and got to go rip around the neighborhood. Transmission i had built 35years ago, and has sat in the back of an old pickup bed without oil in it and the converter its whole existence. I put a new filter, pan and modulator on it a couple weeks ago. Today it worked like it was built yesterday. Converter a tad tight and hope it loosens up some. It will bark the 1 tire with moderate throttle going into 2nd. It flat out gets it done. So happy.
Now the bad, i think this brand new napa fuel pump has a bad diaphragm or bad crimp. It wont keep filter full at low rpm and dies on me now. Wtf? Haha. The clear filter will bubble air after truck has been turned off and everytime i open the hood its less than half full |

Re: Patina love
Replacing the fuel pump did the trick. Hard to get quality parts anymore. Got alignment done on my 5/8” caster mod for lower cross shaft. Got 5.1 caster and it drives pretty darn amazing down the road

Re: Patina love
You have it looking good. Any problems with the 5.5-7 drop as far as turning radius/scrubbing?

Re: Patina love
Got me a remote battery box for a 34/78 optima redtop battery and a battery of course . Got plans to mount on outside passenger frame rail under bed. Also waiting for a derale remote transmission oil cooler with electric fan. Wanna put them both on the passenger side out of the way. Just another step at cleaning up the engine compartment. After this gets done and i can afford it im planning on a boyds tank with aeromotive 340.

Re: Patina love
Question for you guys on the inline 250. Whats it worth to sell. Be honest with me. I am on the edge of listing it very soon as is. As a complete runner so someone can run and drive it before sale. This is my best description:
Complete running Chevy 250 inline 6 cylinder out of 68c10 pickup. Rebuilt at some time has brass freeze plugs. Mileage unknown but cant be much. Starts and runs as smooth as they come. Completely re-sealed valve cover, lifter covers, timing cover, oil pan. Used new grade 8 bolts in everything. New water pump, 190 degree thermostat, mechanical fuel pump, HEI distributor, plugs, build to fit plug wires, 1 wire 65 amp alternator, ebay polished 1 barrel carb w/electric choke, 153 tooth flex-plate, high torque starter and 7 blade clutch fan. Custom made fuel and vacuum lines. Could be sold with new radiator, shroud and hoses additional 2000.00 engine 3500.00 complete engine with cooling system and transmission Last edited by oneshotkyle; 05-27-2024 at 11:02 PM. |
