Re: My 52 GMC Build
its sad to see hillbililes burning a whole barn over some beer! no offense to them but yeah they are just burning up alot of money. Lots of old barns around me, so its practically free if you haul it. Have you thought about pallet wood? I entertained that thought. I like the different shades and thin boards, kinda like a hardwood floor look. and.... it would be free!

Re: My 52 GMC Build
So tonight my son and I tried a full bed length burn on 2" wide, had to do it in 2' sections but worked out quite well. This weekend I will go get 6" wide and try again then put on a gray stain and see what the boards will look like.

Re: My 52 GMC Build
neato! that burnt wood is going to be super out of the box, just like most other parts of your truck
I tried to remember where the old grain truck sides were in my stuff and saw them laying across the escape window box on the new addition haha. I didnt want the dogs to fall in before they were used to the egress.

Re: My 52 GMC Build
I hope so!! It will be better than the plywood, and if I don't like it as well as I hope then I'll change it for next year.

Re: My 52 GMC Build
We have had no snow for a few weeks now and the salt is off the road. You will have that soon.

Re: My 52 GMC Build
joedoh Did it shut down the city?
So last summer I had the truck insured at my regular insurance company with no appraisal and basic liability, fire, theft. Last fall before we drove south I got an appraisal done and it came back more than the total cash I had invested. So I was happy. This year I was shopping for insurance and my company came back with a great price. Last year I payed 629/yr no appraisal. This year 772/yr with the appraisal and I added collision. So full appraised coverage: liability, collision, fire, theft with no restrictions for $143 more, sure sign me up. Now I have to say I don't even pay that much due to the fact I only have fire and theft on it from November to April, and that price is for a full year. Getting truck out tomorrow, tomorrows weather sunny and 11*C/52*F not too bad.

Re: My 52 GMC Build
So today I wanted to get the headlights switched over from HID to LED. Good thing because the one HID that still worked was all cloudy (ready to blow). Bought some H4 plugs to plug in the LED's it's the same plug that the sealed beam have. The pictures show the steps, then just install like normal. I had to cut out all the HID stuff glad that is all gone. They are very nice and white, I'll get a pic tomorrow.

Re: My 52 GMC Build
sweet man, good feeling getting back out in spring. I'm gonna miss spring and most of summer since I'm tearing my truck back down. bags, new heads, all disc brakes, new rear, new exhaust. Have no time and money as it is !!! but it will make driving more fun. keep logging them miles and hopefully fuel prices don't continue to rise.

Re: My 52 GMC Build
If your happy with the light output send me the link to where you got these if you don't mind. My lights in the 48 are not bright enough for my liking.
Thanks Marc

Re: My 52 GMC Build
Here are the lights. Also I have the same LED lights in my Jeep here is what it looks like. Low then High. The picture doesn't even show all the brightness. I'll get a pic from the truck soon.
This is the bulbs I bought. Just shop for a 7" lens that takes a H4 bulb, like from a newer Jeep jk. http://www.ebay.com/itm/S1-PHILIPS-H...RYcx51&vxp=mtr
