Re: My Dusty 71 GMCe Electruck
yes we are going with a Grant steering circle on this truck, and yes I own 7 different Grant Chevy truck specific mounting kits, and NO none of them fit this steering column
this is just for mock up anyway, and will have to come apart for spring cleaning and painting eventually |

Re: My Dusty 71 GMCe Electruck
clocking the steering column was next, and Patrick left no stone unturned, pointing out things I didn't know existed
so first this rectangulizer points North and has the brake pedal bracket nipple go inside of it (I love these factory hints for assembly) |

Re: My Dusty 71 GMCe Electruck
he also pointed out a few other things, but I wasn't paying attention (I don't like people telling me what to do, especially when I call them for help)

Re: My Dusty 71 GMCe Electruck
So now I know it IS normal for the bell to spin a bit on these floor shift columns. Thanks for checking that for me. When it comes time to tear down this column, please let me know if there is a foam donut inside it down under that curved cover at the bottom end.

Re: My Dusty 71 GMCe Electruck
I also swung by Grainger [pronounced: "opposite of Harbor Freight"] and picked up another window for my media blasting cabinet, and oh my god, you can actually see inside that thing, who knew?
so then I went to town blasting everything in sight, no matter how big or small, though I have no idea what I'm going to do with these fender bolts now that they are naked? any ideas / suggestions Last edited by Gregski; 07-16-2022 at 08:44 AM. |

Re: My Dusty 71 GMCe Electruck
I also decided to spreadarize it as it's easier to shorten a drive shaft than to lengthen it, and this will allow me to measurize it more easier and better (we think)
