Re: How about some pics of your 4x4

Airspeed I hate black on a car unless its show quality. Too much to care for. Mine really looks good in the shade but as soon as the sun shines on it UGHHHH ! Good enough for a DD but mines swirl city. Would repaint it but not in the budget.

Really, mine rides pretty smooth . But you have to remember its a 42 year old truck, its not a cadillac.

the teal one I restored when I was 18, then saw it 20 yrs after I sold it, the white one I bought last yr and have the lq9 under the hood. I am just starting the fuel system now, for the build. I am 45 now, a guy is never too old to play with trucks.

Nice lift! My buddy lived in San Rafael a good while. He then lived in Fairfax before eventually moving up to Portland. I used to come out and see him a lot.

Here's my daily driver I picked up from Cobb County GA. It's a '95 K2500 that was a K-9 (bloodhound) unit. 350/4L80E,4.10,hydroboost,skid plates, nothin' fancy. Best thing is very clean no rust metal and it had 120k on it. I've tweaked the torsion bars, opened up the intake, split to dual exhaust, privacy tint, hitch, and 255/85-16 tires.
It's my work truck and car all in one. It's fully enclosed like a van and even has a front access door on each side. It can be like a regular cab long bed pickup (with cap) or a crew cab shortbed. What's cool is it can also be a crew cab for one or two in back with 2/3 or 1/3 floor space at 8' long.
Basically, something inexpensive that doesn't have crazy miles on it that was fleet maintained that I don't have to worry about rust on for a good while.
The last two are when I got it:

Re: How about some pics of your 4x4

Picked this 04 crew up Sunday,

7.5" rough country with 6" rear, 35s 22s, 06+ hood and grille.

Still need to debadge, remove the side moldings/rain guards, color match all the black, clear lights, bullet grille and emblem.

That didn't take long. It looks good, but needs more tire, IMO not into that stretched tire look…

Re: How about some pics of your 4x4

I'm droolin' over here. And envious! ^^^

I sold my '85 Jimmy last weekend to a guy in New Hampshire. I'll be delivering it in a week or so, so I had to pull the soft top off and mount the original top for transportation purposes. It's a cool looking Jimmy with it's unique color combo, but I sure do lve the soft top better. anyway. I bought it, drove it 5 miles home, put axles/lift under it, then soft top before ever driving it. I only saw it look like this in my driveway for a couple weeks.

Re: How about some pics of your 4x4

Hello everyone. Here is my 72 k10. I just started a thread for a frame off restoration. Going to be my first time and could use all of the advice I could get. Seeing all of the trucks in this thread is some great motivation. I have a 383 stroker being assembled right now for the truck. It currently has 37" tires which I like but I do not like how the lift was done. It has a combo of body, suspension, blocks, and ord shackle flip. I would like to go with suspension only but I'm not sure on the right height, maybe 9"?
