The POR-20 sounds great. Hope your passenger has enough footroom down there.

Here's the latest. Spent a few few hours out there on Sat. working on the exhaust. The floor boards were covered with the rubber sealer: Cleaned up and more of the kick-up to clear the exhaust tuckage: Underside: Tubes: Up and over: More tweaking: Muffler tucked up into it's spot: |

Looks good, nice to have you back at it. Building vicariously on 67-72 trucks is very affordable.

Love the tucked exhaust! Now you are ready for a flat belly pan, perhaps with longitudinal "fins" to direct air so the car doesn't get wiggly at speed.

Re: '66 Sunbeam Minx Project - F20C/6sp/4-link/Discs...
i agree that most of us blue collar workers work way too hard for the money we get compared to the asskissers that are sitting upstairs in the office doing the "important" work keeping their chairs warm and their phones occupied , but i wouldnt want to trade with their job as i dont like the smell of ****
i actually got some good news for myself today i have been offered a year long workcontract with an option for longer the pay isnt awesome but its steady income every month and its eazy work i seen a funny cartoon a while back of people of all colour and rishes walking along a street with baloons over their heads showing their monthly income and debt , the guy sitting on the sidewalk begging for money had the most income left after his montly debts where payed off

You certainly managed to find a good clean car for your project. The steel in the floors looks like the day it was built. Must have never been driven in winter. Do they salt the roads there in winter ?

No salt on our roads where I live. It was owned by an "old lady" according the the guy I bought it from. He kept it pretty much garaged and minty. Then I came along |

Very nice work on the exhaust Frizz! I know you have a bunch of time tied up in that setup. You are so close now. Looking forward to updates.

Update Well, between the 6x12 schedule and having family in town on my one week off, I managed to sneak out to the shop for a few... Continued on the exhaust (yes, that is a home-made macebell on the right). Resonating-Wave-Termination-Tuned-Pulsificator-Assemblage The collector is 2.5" and the termination chamber's outlet is 3" (will neck back down to 2.5" You may have noticed the the trans supported by a jack. Yes, I had to hack half of the trans x-member off to do this, but I have a plan Plates are electro-polished stainless: The guy that does all my work for me Bottom welded up: Internal stand-offs to support the flats: I need to close up those two gaps, neck it back down from 3" to 2.5" with a collector flange, and install the O2 sensor bung. But here's how it sits right now: |

soooo what will this chamber do?... it it for resonance? to kill some of the honda big exhaust raspiness?
also if it's pre muffler.. man.. you gotta explain this to all of us!

i'm glad you posted an update! looks good FF. what's the "macebell"? is that the dumbbell by the garage door? what's that for? i'm always intrigued by the tools you use .
sure beats me bumping the thread talking about sand blasting and powder coating.

Re: '66 Sunbeam Minx Project - F20C/6sp/4-link/Discs...
i think the most simple way to deaden the chaimber is to drill a few holes through and through at irregulair intervals and weld some rods in to connect the top and bottom

Re: '66 Sunbeam Minx Project - F20C/6sp/4-link/Discs...
Thanks all. Good timing Jv-
Still workin 6x12 weeks (last one!)... But I managed to get a little more done on the exhaust. The clearance to the spare tire well was too tight here so I broke out the sand bag and panel beater: Here you can also see the turn-down: View from inside. Spare tire mount will be removed and a Miata-size Optima mounted in the well: Tail-pipe hanger tacked up: Mid section mocked up: Up/Over rear: View from front: |

looking good! you're almost to the point of *GASP* wiring! lol you're looking for a smaller battery? you ever see the braille ones? i think they have a CF one, but even the standard ones are supposed to be pretty light.
