Freeeeeeeeebie!!

Free Water Truck (Santa Ynez)
Our small ranch has a water truck that's looking for a new home.
Because we don't have paperwork, this vehicle is only suitable for off-road use.
She has been sitting for a good 10 years and will need to be towed away.
Let me know when you and a tow truck are free to pick her up.
free!

I wish I could snag a few parts off of this, but I have no way to move or store a non-op / non registered truck

There ain't a straight panel on that beast. I wonder what it would fetch for scrap, after the instrument panel and some other goodies were pulled.

Although rusty, that trash truck is cool. It's probably one of the few still out there that wasn't scrapped

That trash truck looks to be "trashed". If somebody actually wants that thing, unless they own a big enough tow truck to get it out of there, it will cost a fortune to tow. I know, I had my C60 towed. OUCH!!

That looks like one you could drop a motor in and have a running and driving truck in just a couple weekends. I hope someone saves it before it gets parted out

Chevy Belair transmission - $50 (Santa Barbara)
Transmission I acquired. Pretty sure it came out a Chevy Belair
looks like one of them OD transmissions - does anybody know if this is the same length as a standard 3 speed ( ie drive shaft length changes?)

Re: Post your 60-66 craigslist finds

I am fairly certain the 3 speed OD transmission is the same length as the long tailshaft 3 speed transmission, like the one pictured here. I believe the spline count is different, so you need a different slip yoke, but otherwise fits with the current driveshaft.

That's a good deal for that transmission! I would buy that in a heart beat if it was close by

Yes, the 4 bolt side cover overdrive transmissions are the same length as the long tail shaft 3 speeds. I have two of the overdrive transmissions. The one currently in my truck came out of a 65 C10. I forget the count, but it has finer splines on the output shaft than the standard 3 speed I pulled out of my truck. The other overdrive that I have has the same spline count as the old 3 speed I pulled out.
I believe the output shaft spline count ran from 55-64 and then changed in 65. Another difference I noticed is that the input shaft necked down on my 55-64 overdrive trans but did not neck down on the 65 I put in the truck.
