You're right - that thing looks freaking cool! The robin's egg blue appliances still blow my mind though.

Would be a great candidate for a pickup box if your looking for a clean low mileage 3/4 ton with a nice original interior. ( not easy to find ). hint hint.

No offense, but that looks like scrap metal, to me. Do you have some close-ups of the non-rusted parts?

Come to New England and see what we have to work with... those two rigs are prime parts trucks for us!

Or Michigan,I see lots of good parts even if you wanted to part them out. Both big windows, beds don't look too bad, even the seat in the red truck looks ok, etc.

Did you click the link and look at the pics? They both appear to be very solid starters to me. Could easily build a nice shortbed with the parts there. Maybe in the CA, AZ area you've never had the pleasure of having to patch up swiss cheese metal before. I could drag those onto a trailer and haul them up north and unload them for 4k!

Re: Post your 60-66 craigslist finds

So, what is that "Z20 Engine Conversion" mean?

OK, I found the answer. Looks like the AIR equipment was left off and the holes in the head or manifolds were plugged! Wild! I've never heard of it coming from the factory like that, and I was a SMOG-licensed tech in California for many years.. I know plenty of people who did the plugs after the fact. I suspect that a run of engines that were "universal" as far as having the holes tapped in the heads for the AIR pipes needed the holes plugged later. Seems easier from a tooling standpoint. Plus, the SMOG stuff was changing rapidly in those days.

If I'm not mistaken, this shows on Fremont, CA built trucks that were delivered to states other than CA.
