299 clicks or 186 or so miles for you and 204 miles for me. The Washington state ferry system is so shorthanded on ferries and crews that some of the shortcuts by ferry you might take aren't going to save time .
I don't have a use for it right now and need to get rid of stuff rather than adding to the stash.

55 Big window short box bring your own baskets for this one. 1500 which is about the price of a bare cab in some places even though this cab no doubt needs some real work .
1500 and 256 miles from my place makes it pretty tempting if I had the money to spend.

I think its a 500 footer, it looks better from 500 feet away, lol. there will for sure be some new panels required, but if it comes with the title it might be a good start for a guy who wants a full resto under his belt.

Thing is, a 55/57 Big window is something I have wanted for over 50 years. That was my dream truck when I was in my 20's. I even sold the 48 in 1974 to buy a big window and drove 150 miles to buy it only to get jacked around on it and not buy it and buy the 57 panel with the built to the nines 327 in it. The list of trucks I've had have been 59 El Camino, 67 C10 long bed, 327 automatic and air with all the 67 bells and whistles, the 48 bought as a 75 dollar go to work truck in 1973. a 64 GMC, 70, C 10 that had been my sons adn the 68/9 that I put the drive train in after I rolled it, the 71 GMC, my 77 dually flatbed that will go up for sale soon Plus OOPs a 74 Chevy Luv that I drove for a year or so. That's just the ones I actually drove for any length of Time. Add in about 20 47/53 trucks, four (I think 67/72) and a couple more non GM trucks including one 55 International that I traded a paint job for. The only way I could do the 55 would be win the powerball and pay a friend who builds some really nice rides to build it. He has a little shop here in the valley but has received national recognition with one of his builds and built and AD a few years ago that still holds it's own with the best in the country.

A pair of TF rear fenders that look reasonably decent in the only photo he posted 450 asking price. Troutdale Oregon. https://www.facebook.com/marketplace...2111112l%22%7D

Re: Post your C/L - Facebook finds for everyone to enjoy!
I don't post a lot of stuff simply because it isn't good enough to suggest that my friends on here even consider buying it or it is too far over priced for what it is. I don't know what the actual going price on TF step side fenders is but 450 for the pair is a starting point for negotiation. Unless the other one is horrid, the aren't rusted out or so beat that someone can't get them back pretty decent. Yes I have posted a couple of sketchy things simply because I figured that there were parts on them that someone might need or want and they were rigs where cash greenies in front of the face and a trailer sitting there to haul it off talked real loud. Especially if the guy's wife is standing there.

Re: Post your C/L - Facebook finds for everyone to enjoy!
thats an interesting mirror on the blue truck with the fenders for sale.
just a point for guys looking at fenders. always look on the baxk side and rub your hand over that surface because you can feel the bumps on the backside where previous bodywork has been covered i bondo. I bought a set off a guy who claimed they were original steel with original paint but what he MEANT was original steel with original bondo and original second paint job from many years ago, lol. they were pretty rough after the paint and bondo was removed but the price reflected that actually. I wouldn' have bought them if I had actually rubbed my hand over the rusty back side of the fender and felt the big bumps there. oh well, they are redone now so water under the bridge. |

Re: Post your C/L - Facebook finds for everyone to enjoy!
That would be the twin to this 54 fender that I got at an auction.
It came with this 54 hood and I can't remember if I paid 10.00 each or 10 for the pair as no on bid against me. I'm thinking that both were on the same truck that my frame came from that my best friend owned and took apart to rebuild and sold the body off to someone. He gave me the frame and front axle for my truck because my frame was twisted. I gave the fender to a kid on the HAMB that had wrecked his front fender the first day he had the truck and was pretty sick about it and then ground about a pound and a half of bondo out of the fender, worked it with a hammer and dolly for about an hour of easy work shot some fiz can primer on it and stuck it in a box and on the Grayhound bus.

Re: Post your C/L - Facebook finds for everyone to enjoy!
Those popup trailers are real heavy for their size. I looked at Hi-lo Trailers in the early 80's and they were a lot heavier than the same size regular trailer. I sure like the idea though.
The Deciding factor was that you couldn't just stop and get in the trailer and fix lunch or use the potty without raising the roof. We did more than one side of the road stop when our daughter was young with the 15 footer we had.

More rust than I like to deal with but a pretty solid 54 FIVE window with a title close to a main interstate for an honest price.

Re: Post your C/L - Facebook finds for everyone to enjoy!
I don't usually post the little bit higher priced but need work trucks but you could hit the first event of the year with a nicely polished and spiffed up 48 with V8 truck that you may not have to do a lot more than cosmetics to plus a fresh seat. 12,500 is pushing my limit for one that needs some things but I don't see any real rust in the nicely aged yellow paint and all you might want to do is remove and replace a few pieces one at a time with no real tear down time.

47 1-1/2 ton in Indepencence Oregon. Too far for me to go this time of year but that looks like a pretty decent cab for 150 with a title.

Give that one a pressure washing and it woll look pretty nice. My wife would find too much work for it to do.
