Re: GM Semis
Chase the bugs and critters out. Go over the engine to see if it's safe to start. Fire it up if it is. Go thru the brakes and fluids. Temporary floor pan, temporary seat, and test drive the beast!
If that all shakes out good I'll work up a plan of attack and down to the frame she goes for restoration. Might have found a parts trucks too. Fingers crossed on that one. =) |

Re: GM Semis
67-72 , but maybe all years didn't offer the 427 as a medium truck engine .
I have a "cherry" cab with the same front clip available in upstate eastern NY. Early service was a fire truck, then served in street maintenance dept . It has the flared front fenders, like pictured. PM me if interested ! |

Re: GM Semis
I know where it is. Northbound I-83 south of York, PA. The blue trailer could be Maersk Line and probably hauling from Baltimore harbor.

Re: GM Semis
From what I can see, I can narrow it down to 70-72. It lacks the '69-style clearance lamps, but they could be changed, so maybe '69 is possible. Not sure on years of engine options

Re: GM Semis
Also, I would need to research it, but weren't the Heavier Trucks up to '69 the "E" Series ?
BTW, it is a GMC with it's Letters missing on the grille.

Re: GM Semis
kindah suprized they ran those exhaust stacks so close to the hay
wouldve figured they would run the exhaust underneath the flatbed to prevent firehazzards

Re: GM Semis
I've got a few GMC brochures from Motor Inn Auto Co. in upstate NY that I bought at Hershey or Macungie. Kind of nostalgic, as our farm was 10 miles away and I'd visit the dealership and dream as a teenager. They were Olds/GMC dealers through the 50s, it's the village firehouse now.

Re: GM Semis
That's my route to Macungie. Actually, I bought my first Blazer up that way in Red Lion in '82 (a '71)

Still waiting to get to Sykesville, [and of course Mt. Airy] when my older sis gets back from Florida. We haven't been your way since Christmas 2014. Also gotta see the progress on Billy Marlow's 860 .
