happy to report we got the passenger control arms in the Organic Paint Booth OPB this morning

spraying some wheel barrel paint figure if it's good enuff for haulin' rocks, dirt, and concrete it's good enuff fer SEMA

I liberated the front body mounts figure this front clip won't see another Camaro body any time soon

had to take it off in pieces as I couldn't get a good angle on it, and my largest cutting disks were all the size of a silver dollar

and started cleaning up the frame for paint

so this is why we couldn't break 45 seconds in the Quarter Mile!

mind you this is only half the dirt from the driver side

I was pretty much up for anything if it meant getting out of cleaning the rest of the control arms, lol

tried the Lima Bean oil on the bed of the truck, thank you Chris for the recommend, and you say I don't, listen!

pressed on with more doo dads - I actually like this simple design, GM well done

picked up a can of gloss black paint, going old school with brushes on the frame, that way I don't have to mask anything off

and so we went after it, the goal being get more paint on the frame than on your hand, simple!

thank you, you know me, same or better is all we ask for

really wanted to get everything painted before heading out camping this weekend that way this crapy California paint has a few more days to cure

so as of this writing all the suspension parts that are going back on have been painted

we also have the brand new coils now (waiting to be all scratched up, ha ha)

and the rest of the parts are due to arrive next Monday so the day after we return from the lake - Perfect!

Would it be too much to ask for a little tutorial on the coil spring install? I will be doing mine soon and a refresher wouldn't hurt. You probably know something I don't to make this process easier.

I remember somewhere else you mention you liked the Krylon paint but was getting harder to find, but here they are making a come back and I saw they sell tractor paint,don,t know if they always did. I just like how well the Krylon spray paint sprayed. Thought I would mention it

on a semi serious note, please check out my first build thread called Restoring Rusty there is a Table of Contents and somewhere's around thread number 2151 I do just that I document how to replace the front coil springs and not get dead!

I offer you a link to what for me starts on page 54 but depending on how many posts your preferences are set to on this forum it may lead you to a different page, but you'll finger it out I'm sure of it

Anytime ;) Good idea trying it out on the inside of the bed. I'll bet it would look good on the rest of the truck.

Great job on the cleanup of the parts and the frame. They are all taking the finishes well and we all know that's because of the prep. Us recovering perfectionists know that it's hard to decide where to draw the line. But the satisfaction from getting the specific part or a certain area on the vehicle all dialed-in lends to the overall sense of satisfaction.

I took a hiatus from The Forum and once I came back, it turns out you've been killin' it! So much progress, so many pages, haha. Great work man! You swapped for an LS in less time than it used to take to diagnose the old milkshake maker.

so I ordered the suspension parts a week ago from Rock Auto and they said they will ship them via FedEx and that I would have them on Monday a week later, well

Monday - no parts

Tuesday - no parts

Wednesday - ???

now I don't mind waiting a week, but if you say a week that's a long time so you should have enuff time to get them to me
