Re: How about some pics of 73-87 Long Beds?
Thanks man! Long story short, those 16.5 white steel wheels started my obsession with these trucks years ago when i saw them on my dad's 'Burb...so they're not going anywhere!!

I like your truck, the wheels and tires just really make it stand out, give it it's own look!

No way. More like 106k. Look at all the rock chips in the rear fender before the tire!

Re: How about some pics of 73-87 Long Beds?
I'm not buying the '6k original'. Look at the intake and the bracket just under the upper radiator hose. The intake is all rusty and the bracket and bolt are nice paint. But it is a nice truck.

Re: How about some pics of 73-87 Long Beds?
That happens to these old cast iron intakes. They cook the paint off of them.

Re: How about some pics of 73-87 Long Beds?
Well it is a nice truck what kills it for me is the white hood and stripes plus the gaudy bumper guard. If that is factory stock, what were they thinking? I noticed the rusty hood latch, spring & bolts across the front it must not have been garaged all the time. I think it's over priced in these lean times, but it is a good survivor...Vernski

Re: How about some pics of 73-87 Long Beds?
Just joined the board, and this is my recent acquisition - a 1981 C10 one owner 83,000 mile truck. Original 305 with auto.
Tires will be replaced very soon - original size tires - 205/75/15's to match the original unused spare in the box.... Probably looking to go with 235/7015's - taller and wider to better fill the wheelwells. Not sure about putting the topper back on - it's period correct - but I just don't like toppers. |

Those look like the repop ones you can get from LMC.

Re: How about some pics of 73-87 Long Beds?
Thanks for the comments guys! Will be posting photos with the new tires when mounted.
I did pull the grille out and paint it last week - it was a weathered orginal piece. I've ordered new shocks and front coils (photos don't show it, but the left front spring is bad). Door panels were already on the truck when I bought it - if they are LMC repops that's good to know. I'm looking for a set of buckets - could be original or something that would fit. Any suggustions as to what to look for besides a vintage set? |

Re: How about some pics of 73-87 Long Beds?
IF you lift it, your choices are really limited because its a 2wd. I know fabtech makes a kit but i think its only 3".

Very nice truck Todd, lifting it will just make harder to get in plus load your bike. But some people have long legs....Vernski
