You're probably right. Maybe he will make a pass through the OK/TX region, too. Kind of like a victory lap once Silver is finished....

Re: Finally "Silvers" build thread!! ('78 swb 2wd silverado)
thanks for all the nice comments guys! a victory lap would be cool! yesterday i gave the cab a big hug and watched her leave to get painted. kinda wierd going out to the garage and not seeing it. oh well... i can now focus on getting the motor ready to start. the harness should be here today or tomorrow. i need to figure out what to order from summit so i can get the tranny lines done and a bunch of other little stuff.

The support looks really good Dennis. Can't wait to see the Red Jewel on the cab.

Re: Finally "Silvers" build thread!! ('78 swb 2wd silverado)
thanks guys! been just messing around today... got the radiator hoses on and steam line hose on. ordered a few fittings from summit for the tranny cooler lines.
i need to know what size/type thread is on the trans cooler inlet/outlet. i was going to try and use the stock quick release lines but i remember seeing someone unscrewing them and putting regular -an style adaptors on there. ring any bells?

Seriously?....You and everyone else know better than to use language like that. Typing spaces to trick the software is not cool at all. Infraction given

Re: Finally "Silvers" build thread!! ('78 swb 2wd silverado)
ha no. only way to get some words on here. The set up is clean. What if you were to run a steel braided line for the steam line, or make one out of hard line and get it chromed or a polished stainless one. just some ideas.

Re: Finally "Silvers" build thread!! ('78 swb 2wd silverado)
Tony from Entropy said my radiator is 5/16 inverted flare 1/2-20 thread size. i'm not sure what the 5/16's means though... i hope that one ^^ will work on mine also! because thats the one i ordered

Re: Finally "Silvers" build thread!! ('78 swb 2wd silverado)
That Summit fitting looks to be exactly what you need. I may be way off, but I think the 5/16" is the I.D.

Re: Finally "Silvers" build thread!! ('78 swb 2wd silverado)
Yepper! And after a phone call, the 5/16" inverted flair part is if you are going to use a flaired steel line rather than going to a screw on line like you plan on using. Brake lines have inverted flair fittings on them. Now we both know
And, yes, AN fittings are quite expensive! |
