Re: My Facetruck thread.
It's been a year since I started my Lymphoma treatments. I think I'm strong enough to go for a putt now. So I gave it a quickie wash and going to give it a try.

Re: My Facetruck thread.
I Hope you enjoyed your Ride! You deserve it, my Doctor told me when I had Cancer " If you can Kick Start it you can Ride IT!" He knew I had a Ol Shovelhead Chopper with Kick Start Only. I went out to the Garage and tried it every day until I could start it on one Kick. I only rode it for a hour but what a Ride it was.

Re: My Facetruck thread.
Dale started me thinking about riding. I don't have many pictures on this computer, but here's one from several years ago.. This is my old shovelhead somewhere in South Dakota or Montana probably.
That bike makes me look fat? Uh, I think the fat makes me look fat.

Re: My Facetruck thread.
HA, my attorney still has the shovelhead and it's in his will.
I filed suit to collect money for a job, and during the procedures he told me he had a client that had a motorcycle he would like to have. I didn't know he was talking about me. WE won the case and I asked him how much I owed him. He said "What do you want for that shovelhead." I told him and he said "You know that is exactly what my bill is."

Re: My Facetruck thread.
I hope you had a great ride, Dale. Always feels good to get back in the saddle once you've reunited as one after a spell without.
Love that FL, Larry. Just the way I like 'em. I had a blue and white '66 I stripped down like that. Sure do miss it. My '90 FLST. I always look fatter on the bike

Re: My Facetruck thread.
No, only 1/2 of them.
So we got that rain on Friday. Around 9pm we had a torrential rainfall here. I just did a metal roof over one section off my bedroom window, over my son's room. It was so loud it had me wondering if I made a mistake. I liked the idea of gaining that rain on a tin roof effect, but this was some kind of loud! So I go into town yesterday and driving by the farm I took the wagon ride with my grandson on I notice a lot of activity going on, trucks along the lane no cars at the produce stand. Then I see the entire roof was off the old post & beam barn... rafters and all! A big chunk of roof was missing from the building the produce market is in as well. The road that edges the farm at my end was blocked off by state roads trucks. I googled the farm and got nothing about storm damage, then I searched Mt Airy wind damage and got news reports from both the Baltimore and Washington, DC news channels. If it wasn't a tornado it missed a damn good chance. Not far toward town on the same road is a shopping center with a Home Goods/TJ Maxx side by side. I had just been to the grocery store in that center and noticed plywood over one section of window at Home Goods and wondered if they had closed down. Parking lot was empty, except a couple county sheriffs' vehicles. In the news it was all about the roof torn off/giving out on those two stores, a trailer park with lots of tree damage, and that closed off road having lots of downed trees. Just two weeks ago I was taking a relaxing hay wagon ride with my grandson on that farm. Now they are shut down and in bad shape. Weird thing was, I didn't see any of that big barn roof anywhere in sight in those open fields. Where that farm sits is just east over the ridge (Parrs Ridge). On the ridge you can see Catoctin Mt 20+ miles away. Parr's ridge is the divide of the piedmont... highest point. https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=...ntg3TJA4kK7RVk Here's the first news: https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=...zr9w62vQ-La_Jd Now that a tornado was confirmed: https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=...E0eG5w3Ld9Fl1N And an article about Knill's place: https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=...M4hWmSX9hBkG8l

Re: My Facetruck thread.
Tim I think ya'll are getting more significant storm weather over there than you did 10 years ago. Some years ago I saw on tv a tornado warning had been issued for your area and thought how unusual for your area. I think I then sent you a message to keep an eye on the clouds. Surprised you too.

Re: My Facetruck thread.
I guess I didn’t realize you all got tornadoes in your part of the country. Not just a Kansas phenomenon.

Re: My Facetruck thread.
Yeah, not like on the plains where two major air streams mash. More like localized I guess. I never heard of tornados when I was a kid and many years beyond. Maybe up in the mountains one would kick up and ride a ridge for a short distance. It seems a lot more violent winds are occurring for sure.
Amazon built a distribution center on the old site of Bethlehem Steel East side of Baltimore. Pretty new thing. They had a wind damage and two people died.

Is he fat, lazy and worthless? If so he could be. I don't think my dad spent any time in Indiana, but if my mom had us I'm pretty sure she would have given at least one of us away.

Re: My Facetruck thread.
He’s actually a good worker (retired union welder). He could stand to lose a few pounds, but he’s still a handsome rascal. Another pic of him

Put leather on 'em, set 'em on a Harley, and they all look the same
I think Larry has lost a bit of 'excess' since that picture.

Re: My Facetruck thread.
I had a good time yesterday, went to a Model A club workshop with a friend. We took his '29 closed cab frame to rivet a rear corner gusset in. The guy's place where it was, about incredible. Good people, cool vehicles, food & hospitality, and a seminar on rebuilding Model A steering. There was the shop, the "egg house" with some food among the project vehicles, and the big barn parked full of quite an assortment of vehicles under cloth covers. Not to mention all the collectible stuff everywhere (in all buildings).

Re: My Facetruck thread.
I didn't know what to expect. My friend had never met the guy. He isn't in the club but his brother who passed away just last year was obviously held in high regard by all as the Model A guru. Jim knows them through him but also by being the go-to guy for Model A speedometer rebuilding or repairs. I may have been among a bunch of Ford guys, but the guy who owned the place had mixed brands. No camera, unfortunately.

You know some where out there are groups of early Chevy car guys doing the same thing too but I swear I never hear of any.
