Beautiful truck! Looks just like the Danbury Mint model. I suppose you have at least one of those...

Re: How about some pics of 60-66 Trucks
I do have a couple, but they are not from the mint. I was lucky enough to find one at a car show and a find gave me another one for my birthday. Thank you for the nice comments.

Great truck, awesome patina. All you need to do is get some red wheels and take the springs out.

Re: How about some pics of 60-66 Trucks
Here are some pics of my truck the way it sits now. getting close to calling it done for now to start on one of my other projects. air bags in the back, dropped/cut coils up front, crate 350, 350 turbo, 96 dodge seat, 15X7 rallys up front, 15X8 out back, future plans include cab wiring harness, bed liner, new carb, carpet. don't think i am going to go through with the disc brakes/power steering/etc.

Re: How about some pics of 60-66 Trucks
In my opinion the motor look great but that body style needs a hood.

Re: How about some pics of 60-66 Trucks
this is my 63. economy has dried up my spare spending cash, but i have got some things done since i bought it. replaced the blownup 350 with my own 350, had a perfectly working 700r4 already in it. other than motor/trans it still has stock running gear, replaced chopped up springs it was lowered with to stock height new springs, with variable overloads in back, some used eagle2s i had on another, and it rides like a dream. i drove it from phoenix az to kansas without missing a lick shortly after pics taken. cant wait to get some money get them rusty kickers, as well as the very bottom of doors and cab corners fixed, along with some minor cosmetics on the bed, so i can prep it for some paint. like doing the mechanical, i hate body work LOL.

Re: How about some pics of 60-66 Trucks
i shouldnt have said stock running gear i guess, shoulda said stock suspension, drum brakes and rear end. it was late when i posted lol.
the truck had been extensively modified sometime in the past, someone really spent a lot of time and money on it, and in a lot of ways i dont know some of the things about it until i have to work on it LOL. some things modified i know of: the 15inch 6 hole alum wheels and tires, power steering and tilt steering column, dual 16 gal solid steel custom fuel tanks under the bed, i do have the fuel door that is missing but the hinge is messed up, the shaved door handles and inoperable electric windows, motor and tranny of course, and im sure had to have driveline custom made , underdash aftermarket a/c, but i havent found right bracket yet to fit motor in it now, megashifter i put in, the rear bumper i still havent figured out quite where it came from, the smooth tailgate with the handle on the inside...and im sure some other stuff i am forgetting. oh and someone completely removed the heater, wtf LOL...can only drive it on warm or sunny days or the windows fog up LOL. thats one of my projects before next summer ends. has a lot of extra chrome, and the windows are good with no cracks or breaks (i consider myself so lucky on that, dont want to buy a new wraparound front window LOL) i think i got a steal for 1k but i will have to do the bodywork soon or shes gonna fall apart when the rust spreads.

Here is my 63 suburban I'm the third owner my grandfather was the second owner and he got it off of his best friend back in 1969, and took it straight to mexico and its been there ever since. I remember going to my grandpas house and the first thing that i would do when i get there was go play inside of the suburban and now i'm the owner well after $600 dllrs. I'm only 22 but i want to fix it so when i have kids they can enjoy it too.
