Yeah, What he said!

Did you take any pictures of the dash install? It seems like the earlier dash is narrower that the squarebody cab, so did you center it and fill in the gaps at the ends or split it down the center so that the dash ends but up to the cab sides and fill in the center? How did the steering column line up with the early dash?

the earlier dash is narrower....so I added about 2" on each end, had to drop the column down some.....lots of pics starting a page 54....

Thanks John! I just found that out after spending the last couple of hours at work catching up on your thread! I've gotten so behind on so many build threads from being so overloaded at work for the past unpteen months, it left no time for non-work related computer time.

A couple of years ago I found an article about installing a '65 dash in a squarebody. I think it was from Sport Truck magazine. Anyway, thats what they did; add a filler at the ends of the dash. It seemed like when I test fitted my '65 dash in my old stripped '81 cab by locating it in the center, it placed the steering column to the right of where it normally is (because of the narrower cab). Do you recall anything like that when you put yours in?

Re: My 86 build

Moose, where did you find that brake pedal assembly? Been looking for that to match my lokar accelerator pedal... Is that a direct fit for our trucks?
