Does anybody know if cpp sells a 2.5 drop spindle that also centers the front wheel in the wheel well?

I'm not sure. Your not centered now or the drop spindles off set it a bit?

Re: 1967 Chevy CST aka "the loud truck"

I believe all the 2wd (not sure about 4wd) have the wheel just a tad farther back I'm the wheel opening can't be much maybe 1" maybe 1/2" but it's there, and I figure if I'm gonna change the spindle I might as well get on of those centering ones and change that while I'm already there.

As for progress.... I bought 4 new tires and put the tires on the 16's and I just put the 16's on today... It is a very subtle difference, but it looks very cool I feel the 16" steelies fits better with the size of the truck..

Hey Rick,
I don't believe that any spindle will center the wheel. I went with PB controll arms that are 1" forward. You could try this http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=501241

Ahh that's what it is, it's not the spindles it's the control arms that you have to mod... Ok well I have more research to do now..

As soon as I get my hands on a computer I'll try and posts up some pics of the 67 with the 16's

Why don't you have your hubcaps on? Those wheels are hard to tell but the tires due add some height...but I think it looks good

Re: 1967 Chevy CST aka "the loud truck"

The larger wheels help match the size of the body and looks a little better I think. But yeah since it's still a black steelies to most people they won't suspect that is what looks different about the truck but in person you can tell something is just different

wire wheelin the drip rails today, figure its perfect shouldnt get any rain for the next couple of months, gives me a nice amount of time to get them cleaned, primed and then get them resealed before it starts raining. probably going to have to sand down the top and put it in primer.

Re: 1967 Chevy CST aka "the loud truck"

Well I've been thinking quite a bit and I have a new set of plans for the truck. (I know I'm constantly changing my mind... At least with every mind change i perfect the truck just that much more... Well at least I think so) so I have a list made up of what I all need and where to get it so there should be quite a bit of work getting done in the near future. Since this build thread is so dead anyways it won't hurt if I keep it a surprise til I'm done.

Well let's just say there's some steel going to get taken off of the frame and some more steel put in it's place and it's going to look a lot better then it does already

Trucks looking good, a set of Porterbuilt forward control arms will center your wheels nicely. Can't wait to see what you plan to do to the suspension.

Nice work to the truck! Enjoy driving it around. Your nephew is a cutie too! Once you get the truck dropped a bit, it'll really look sweet!

I've noticed the rear wheels are also off center... If I made a plate to go between the trailing arm brackets and the trailing arm crossmember would it bring the axle farther back?? It wouldn't have to go back very far

I'm trying to start him young.... Doesn't help when his mom is super earth friendly and organic and natural everything lol and yes once I bring it down it should give the truck a nice attitude!

Well I know I wouldn't say anything about the shipment of cpp parts.... Oops... I've said to much...

Re: 1967 Chevy CST aka "the loud truck"

Dude, if your sister is super envirostitious and believes your truck to be the sourse of earth's demise, just remind her that your truck is made from 98% recycleable and decomposeable natural organic minerals, and can run on Crude oils which require less of the toxic refining required for modern "eco-friendly" automobiles! I'm sure more than 90% of your truck was rebuilt using recycled post-consumer parts too! You are doing more for the environment by minimalizing the footprint of factories by decreasing the production demands as well as decreasing land fill accumulation with all your recycled components! Who's more eco-friendly NOW!

Re: 1967 Chevy CST aka "the loud truck"

Ok guys got a question... What's the advantage to having the cpp 63-72 adjustable bent deluxe rear trac bar, versus the cpp 63-72 adjustable straight deluxe trac bar? Does the bend allow the trac bar to be closer to the axle?
