Re: Donz '65 SWB Stepper Budget Build...
More truck time now that Old Man Winter and the ensuing rain have relented...
Started out today finishing a couple of work related projects… IMG_2022 by ta2don, on Flickr IMG_2025 by ta2don, on Flickr Then back to the Power Steering oops that was due to me getting ahead of the game... So today, after my other project time and some quality time with the better half… I pulled the P/S Box and cut the adapter plate loose… Then re-installed in the proper location, mounted the Center-Link, then mounted the Sway-Bar… IMG_2029 by ta2don, on Flickr IMG_2028 by ta2don, on Flickr Finally rolled the chassis out for a comparison photo, first photo is the GMC Frame with the 85 front crossmember but before Plasma Cutter surgery to remove the leaf spring rear and replace with the Chevy Trailing Arm set-up... Last pic is from today… Still a bit of rake, but not quite as much... IMG_0986 by ta2don, on Flickr IMG_2031 by ta2don, on Flickr

No fear of this Trans Crossmember rusting...
50 years of crud and road grime has kept this steel free of rust… IMG_2046 by ta2don, on Flickr IMG_2048 by ta2don, on Flickr IMG_2047 by ta2don, on Flickr After some clean via scraper and wire brushes… and a coat of undercoating paint... IMG_2054 by ta2don, on Flickr That's all for today...

Re: Donz '65 SWB Stepper Budget Build...
looking good Don! my crossmember was pretty caked up as well...unfortunately, mine wasn't as easily accessible as yours...I did lots of squirming & contortion maneuvers just to get it as clean as I could...needless to say, my neck & back were not very appreciative

Re: Donz '65 SWB Stepper Budget Build...
After a coupe of days of Honeydooz and yard work I finally got out into the shed and finished the Accelerator pedal…
IMG_2456 by ta2don, on Flickr Then cleaned the bolts that bolt the Motor perches to the frame and painted the perches… Small steps... IMG_2453 by ta2don, on Flickr IMG_2455 by ta2don, on Flickr That's all for today… next step is to mount the Engine and Trans and get ready to re-install the cab...
