Coach, What happened between 3/20 and yesterday that you picked up and moved a significant distance across country?

Truck is looking so good. Tell us about the punchlist items you still need to do?

The move was in the plans almost a full year ago. I thought I had shared it. We were looking for a change of scenery. Something with more mild winters, but affordable. Idaho fit the bill.

Punchlist:

Still needs a 4 wheel alignment (Scheduled for this week)
Rebuild doors
Replace door glass
Find a 700R4

Re: 1949 Chevy 3600 into a daily driver

Almost spring in Northern Idaho.....getting anxious to get Henry out to be a daily driver.

Still have punch list stuff to take care of, but since he is driveable, it is tough to buckle down and do it.

Slowly getting my new garage organized. Lost a bunch of space from my garage in NoDak. That is probably the only negative of the move.

Hot Rod scene is great out here. Weekly cruise in's and shows.

Thanks. It was kind of dead space. The back of the truck was always full of crap that needed to be emptied out before he got driven.

I love our new neighborhood. The guy building the truck below lives the next street over, I could hit his house with a baseball from my patio.

Very nice!! I might steal your over the bed shelf idea (slick). Does your truck sit on bump stops or on the ground?

New garage looks cool, even if it's smaller. Have you decided on a wheel change?

It sits on the ground......but I can actually drive under the shelf at ride height, barely.

No, cannot decide what I want to do. Change the color, or caps......or just clean them up and run them.

Nice touch on the garage, I've been thinking of doing something similar. I used to live in PF and Hayden, but Boise, now. Great place to live! I want to finish my projects and take them to CarDLane some day. Maybe next year...

I know you’re not asking....but that’s never stopped me from offering an opinion before!

If you’re determined to make a change may I suggest you paint the wheel either the same body color blue, OR a very rich cream bordering on a faint yellow but NOT yellow. Then I’d suggest installing clips and using ‘51-‘52 cap caps. I had them on my old ‘46 and always got a lot of compliments on them.

Hope all is well up in the hinterlands of Idaho!

Re: 1949 Chevy 3600 into a daily driver

I don't, but certainly will this summer when things get rolling. I was stunned to see another 3600 so similar to mine. Not common. A pic from the day she rolled onto the trailer from a 34 year slumber ........
