Nice job on the bed parts! How do you apply that Raptor Liner?

Re: 1969 Short Wide

Love the pcm mount! Work looks great- I gotta try that Raptor liner next time. Al's works good, but almost no open time, and a PITA to shoot with a hopper gun. The work Kyle did with it on Square peg and yours here has me convinced. Keep it up, it looks great!

I really like the Raptor. I'm not sure how durable it is for a work truck but it's going to work great for my project. The kit I bought (ebay had the best deal) came as pictured. The gun is called Schutz gun I think, comes in the kit. Just mix shake and spray.

Thanks for the compliment. I highly recommend the Raptor. It's super easy.

Re: 1969 Short Wide

I bought a pint base coat sample to test and to see what my paint is going to look like. I shot the front side of the front bed panel mostly because it doesn't show. So if I failed it's an easy fix.

Goal of color before 2014 met...
basecoat

cleared

Thanks Rex. I just got so tired of looking at primered panels, I had to throw some paint on there.

If you just keep experimenting with a panel at a time....it will ALL be painted soon..very very soon!!!

nice color bro...keep it up, slow and steady is the best way. Most frustrating but the best way.

Thanks Eddie. I am going to paint the inside of the bed, then try to prep everything else for one big shoot so it all matches. We'll see how that works out.

My too. I have a special place in my heart for a-hole cops that can't let a guy slide. Not even cut a guy some slack on the miles over....

$342?!? What is that for - 60 in a school zone? Ouch!

Love the red, Mike.

Re: 1969 Short Wide

I really like the PPG basecoat paint and the Imron Clear coat. I'm no expert at color sanding and buffing (still need to buy the right compound and tools), but I really like the depth. Kinda hard to tell with my crappy camera.
color sanded to 2000 grit

buffed

Thanks Steve. I'm digging the red too.
Try 57 in a 35.= 22 over.... coasting down hill. Just an FYI if you're ever out my way again, most roads don't have speed limit signs and it's 35 MPH everywhere unless it's marked. Basically the whole county is a speed trap

Re: 1969 Short Wide

Now that's RED! Love it man. I'm eyeballin your build here to help map out my paint job. You've obviously got a bunch more time banked doing this kind of thing, so if I can get half the results I'll be stoked! Please keep updating with ALL the details.
Speed tickets - UGH!! Did you see my other thread "Project Stupid Move"? Chip off the old block I tell ya.
