Talking Re: Die-cast 67-72

These threads are still going strong!
I haven't collected anything in a good while but I'm going to finish up a project I started several years ago over the winter I hope if all goes well.

I hope time allows this winter. Whenever you do get it done I am sure it will turn out real nice. That's one thing at this point I can say is clear to me

Re: Die-cast 67-72

I know this is an old posting but recently i been wanting to buy a truck like mine from the danbury mint collection,, same color as mine in my avatar photo ..mine is a 71 but I don't think they made a 71 so I will settle for a 72 as long as its same color and short bed .. so if any one has one they want to part with for me .send me a message ..

I tried on Ebay to buy one a couple months ago but turned in my bid to late ..some one told me to wait right up to 2 seconds to go and now have learned I believe that it was bad info I got about waiting ..thx if you can help me find one like my truck..

I am 99% sure the Danbury Mint never made a 1972 C10 in blue and white. I have the red and white one and they made an ochre and white one plus a whole lot of 1972 C10s in the colours with decaling of the various NFL Teams.

The one I was bidding on was the same color as my 71 and it was stock version of it also,,no 20 inch wheels or lowered either..( it very well might of not been a danbury ,,but I still wanted it as it was just like what I have in real scale... do you know of any other 1/24 th scale of what i am looking for ? I am not up on these die cast cars and trucks,,I do have a Broncos 72 by danbury that I bought locally for $70 ,,got lucky I guess..

I think this may be the one you saw. It came out in 2011/12 and they only made 5/600 of them but they occasionally turn up on Ebay like the one in the link.

Re: Die-cast 67-72

I do see this one you have shown even yet when I go to ebay ,,but the one I seen and bid on was one that was not in a box and if fact the fender mirrors were broke off ,,but it was the same blue as mine ,,although it was a 72.. It went for about $26 ,,sure messed up as for what I wanted it for it was perfect.. Here is a photo of the 57 Chevy (same color)I owned when 19 and also the blue 66 is again the closest I could find to the 65 chevy c-10 I bought brand new. I would like to find a 39 Chevy 2 door like I had and also a 63 409 too..

Re: Die-cast 67-72

You can blow those Danbury Mints apart and paint with a custom can of match-up spray paint. Maybe you bid on a Jada 1/24 scale. They did some with whitewalls, chrome smoothies, and factory looking two-tone colors

The truck in this link is a 1:64 Scale way smaller that the danbury 1:24th or Highway 61 1:18th versions.

it is rare to see a blue and white that is the very same color as mine in any size , so i found one above to show off the color ,not meaning the size... as the one I was bidding on was a 1/24 which is what I want..

I have seen some 72's that are dark blue and white that I dont want ,,I think they are 1/24 too thx for the reply all helps

Re: Die-cast 67-72

The Jada 1/24th models I've mentioned before are seen in Stan's curio cabinet. There are both the one with large custom wheels and one with whitewalls and chrome smoothies. You could get one with rallye wheels (Hiway 61 1/16) in another color,go to auto paint supply and get a match-up spray can made to paint your own. These are assembled using screws to hold chassis and body together. Once separated,it can be completely taken apart, painted, and reassembled.

I found that one at the bottom of a Walmart throw bin. I pulled it after scoring a metallic green super bird that I've never seen before. I was searching for some 73-87's.
