Re: Donz '65 SWB Stepper Budget Build...
looking good don, way to tackle the frame! cluster looks like it needs to be broken up a bit! only getting every other Sunday off at the new job doesn't leave me with much truck time, so going to be looking for lil to no rust parts! like driver door, pass. front fender, fleetside tailgate!

Re: Donz '65 SWB Stepper Budget Build...
We'll Don, I have heard of traveling on a budget, but this must be the cheapest run around Paris, France you will get.
With Nicola and her daughter out to France last week for her birthday, I wondered how to share the pics I know some of the guys on here like to see. But they are all in high resolution, so emailing 125 photos in batches of 5 was never going to work. So I loaded them into a file on her laptop, placed my digital camera on a tin of Heinz soup, and had the works iPad play some French music next to it while filming the screen in the dark kitchen, after which I uploaded it to YouTube. Think a piece of string, a couple of paper clips and an old shoe technology. Mostly photos taken in Notre Dame, Sacre Coeur churches, and grave yards, including Jim Henderson of the Doors and Oscar Wilde the author's graves. Some skulls and bones of 6 million dead people in the catacombs under Paris toward the end. So here you go......... Paris on the cheap. http://youtu.be/VBAgJ1W5jKE I hope you have a glass of wine at hand and some cheese. Sorry about the not so professional quality.

Re: Donz '65 SWB Stepper Budget Build...
Rian aka Grizz emailed me some pics from his day out today and amongst them was this Swedish Beer…
IMG_1828 by ta2don, on Flickr So now I need to order some because I need to add one of these cans to my collection of crazy stuff I have in my tattoo workroom… Tomorrow's plans include a trip into town to collect a decent load of free lumber and a couple of counter tops… Then a trip a bit later to HF to grab a couple of needed items... Laterz Guyz and Galz...

Re: Donz '65 SWB Stepper Budget Build...
No real truck time, unless you consider a phone call to Bomp truck time… I do...
So today, Old man winter gave us a cloudy and rainy day… I loaded up my bud's trailer and off to the studio... The unit next to my studio is getting a remodel so I scarfed up the unwanted lumber and countertops for FREE... to be used in my shop to be built in the near future... With the help of a couple of young guys, read good lumber moving backs, we loaded up and hauled a load to my place… The ride home also involved the aforementioned phone conversation with Greg… Later it was off to HF with Mrs. Boss and Jojo… Here are some pics…

Loving the pic brother! Good to have a short chat yesterday. Not sure about the truck yet, called the guy and he has two other guys interested. One who's coming too see it today so for my luck it'll be sold before I can get to it. Ah, maybe the good Lord will make things work in my favor.

Re: Donz '65 SWB Stepper Budget Build...
More truck time now that Old Man Winter and the ensuing rain have relented...
Started out today finishing a couple of work related projects… IMG_2022 by ta2don, on Flickr IMG_2025 by ta2don, on Flickr Then back to the Power Steering oops that was due to me getting ahead of the game... So today, after my other project time and some quality time with the better half… I pulled the P/S Box and cut the adapter plate loose… Then re-installed in the proper location, mounted the Center-Link, then mounted the Sway-Bar… IMG_2029 by ta2don, on Flickr IMG_2028 by ta2don, on Flickr Finally rolled the chassis out for a comparison photo, first photo is the GMC Frame with the 85 front crossmember but before Plasma Cutter surgery to remove the leaf spring rear and replace with the Chevy Trailing Arm set-up... Last pic is from today… Still a bit of rake, but not quite as much... IMG_0986 by ta2don, on Flickr IMG_2031 by ta2don, on Flickr

No fear of this Trans Crossmember rusting...
50 years of crud and road grime has kept this steel free of rust… IMG_2046 by ta2don, on Flickr IMG_2048 by ta2don, on Flickr IMG_2047 by ta2don, on Flickr After some clean via scraper and wire brushes… and a coat of undercoating paint... IMG_2054 by ta2don, on Flickr That's all for today...

looking good Don! my crossmember was pretty caked up as well...unfortunately, mine wasn't as easily accessible as yours...I did lots of squirming & contortion maneuvers just to get it as clean as I could...needless to say, my neck & back were not very appreciative
