Re: Joined the Short Wheelbase Club *69 Tahoe Project*

Thanks fellers. The upside of the delay is that my tools, knowledge, and skill arsenals are expanding in the meantime ...no small thanks to the wealth of knowledge shared by the amazing people on this forum. And of course good ol YouTube. For example --> http://www.youtube.com/user/covellron

I've also had time to cook up more non-standard mod plans

DriftBeam is in the final push now. Hang in there

Re: Joined the Short Wheelbase Club *69 Tahoe Project*

No updates, but I can tease a little bit with a list of the parts I've accumulated for it. Some may have been mentioned before, but here they are all in one place (off the top of my head) :

Porterbuilt:
  • Dropmember (Tubular Version)
  • Upper and lower control arms
  • Front sway bar
  • Trailing arms with integrated 3" "lowering block" and 1" lengthened to center wheels (these were a custom request when ordered, but I think he offers these options now)
  • Hood hinges

ECE:
  • Big Brake Kit front and rear
  • Modular drop spindles

Various:
  • Fully built 700r4 (all available options)
  • Buddy buckets (two full rows)
  • Tilt column
  • New windshield
  • New mustang power R&P and all required hydro lines
  • Borgeson stainless steering joints and shaft

So as you can see, Tubby's patience (any everyone elses') will not go unrewarded.

Damn! Two days of reading through (well skimming and looking at pics) and I'm finally caught up. You've done a hell of a lot of fab work, and nice work too. I'm in to see the end result. Hope you can get back to it soon.

I really like the idea of the "Tahoe" build. Do you know of any members that have a completed one or are you one of the first? I would love to see a completed one!

I agree. I'm ready to see some more work on this tahoe. You made it look so easy that I now keep an eye on Craigslist for an old Burb.
