I'm curios about the noise difference too.

Does your tire sponsor send tires to the Netherlands?? I want some....
Well I'm sure he would but it might cost more than new ones lol

Re: My 52 GMC Build

Ok so today I took the truck to get the side windows tinted omg it looks amazing!!!!!!!
As for the noise reduction YES YES it made a huge difference. At 60 mph with the windows up my on phone decibel reader said 73 dBA you can have a conversation easily. So with the interior it dropped about 10 dBA so from a chart I found that is a 90% reduction. My stock '87 Jimmy is about the same on the highway. I still want to do the carpet and I have the inner door seals to put on.

Are you going to keep those front wheels or eventual find something that matches the rear more?

Very nice! I've actually been trying to get some one to tint the side windows on my 72 with no luck.

Re: My 52 GMC Build

Lower50's, sorry to pull you back to the subject of LED headlights but i will be wiring my '55.2 fairly soon and I'm interested in having BRIGHT modern headlights like your results.

Can you show us what the head lights look like from the front when they're not on? Does it look VERY different than stock? - sorry, i have no clue.

Also, did you post detailed photos of what you did to install these? I apologize if I missed it in your thread.

Ya out of all the tint shops around I only found one that said they could do it.

Re: My 52 GMC Build

So over the weekend I swapped out my front air bags to new ones. All I had to do was take the tires off and let the suspension extend and I was able to get them out and in. Got both done in about 4 hrs. Also while I was under there I checked over stuff since I just put it away for the winter after our 2100mi trip in the fall. All looks good!
1st This is the old and new.
2nd not sure if this is normal but a slit in between bellows, didn't leak but I didn't like it.
3rd This is my coolant over flow can I made out of some 2.5" stainless exhaust pipe and a stainless bracket I found. It is 12" long and will hold about 1.5L or .3 gal. Coolant will go in from rad at bottom, so it can suck it back to rad when it cools.

Thanks. Ya airlift bags. Ya didn't like the crack, probably due to the fact I run at 110psi? but they have been in there for just over 2 years, so I figure I'll change them out to prevent problems.

Re: My 52 GMC Build

Today I finished up my jack mount. The wheels are on a piece of angle iron and the front slides under some flat bar held up with 2x 3/8" nuts. Then I just use some tie wraps to keep it from bouncing. Now I can bring my jack with me

I got sick of it kicking around in my shop then throwing it in the trailer when we go somewhere. I also wanted it easy to put in and out.

Re: My 52 GMC Build

So today I tackled the cab door wind lance or cab weather strip. I heard it's a real pain in the donkey's rear, but found a cool idea. I made a little tool that was similar to the rubber profile that I could slide down the channel. It will open up the channel and make sure it is clear. Then I started at the back top and worked sliding the rubber forward using WD40 as lube. Then I trimmed the back part to length and slid it straight down. All in it took 3 hrs (tool and both doors)

Good work on the jack mount. I think I'll have to consider something similar for my truck.

Thanks it's good so far. I have to use this kind of jack because nothing else is low enough or strong enough to lift my truck when it is on the ground.

Re: My 52 GMC Build

Maybe you could try the low profile harbor freight floor jack? I have a snapon one and it is awesome. It's the only jack I can fit under my 40 and Corvette without driving on blocks of wood. Back to the HF jack, they claim it is better than the snapon jack. I doubt it but it may be something to consider if you need a jack for the garage or at home.

https://www.harborfreight.com/3-Ton-...uty-63183.html

Apparently snap-on is suing HF over this jack right now. They sure look similar......

I used a rostra cc kit on a diesel conversion once. It was a really nice unit.

Thanks Ryan I have a regular 3T floor jack for at home work's great on all my vehicles. This little one is just to carry with the truck.
As for the Rostra cc, thanks for the feed back I have heard lots of good things. It will make it nice being we have 2 trips planed in the US this year. Columbus OH in July (340mi) one way and going back to Charolett NC in October (760mi) one way. Plus all the other trips in Ontario.
