In redesigning Ian's design to a horizontal hold, I forgot about the upward motion induced by potholes.

So I will be altering the angle of the threaded bar tonight to diagonal so it can hold down and inward to the chassis.

My Mig welder so trigger has been on self destruct mode recently, which had me looking at alternatives, including upgrading to Euro Torch. Seems it can be done with my Clark machine, but before I got to that, Scottie from Scotland offered me an almost new torch from his last machine that self destructed for postage to try out on my machine.

Thanks mate, the pouring rain here has stopped me fitting it here at this moment.



Tonight Martin popped over for dinner so we could do some of our road trip planning, including me purchasing the extra baggage at £55.00 for an extra 23kg bag.

He also brought me some large wing nuts for the battery tray, and some metal sleeve tubes to go over the threaded bar.

Today Nicola went to meet up with an old friend who has retired in Thailand as a language teacher.
As always they have lunch, followed by a charity shop walk about.
Today Nicola bought an evening dress for £2.50 by Maria Grachvogel of London (go Google that brand) where dresses like this usually come in at over £1000.00

She also brought me a £1.00 treat that she found in one of the shops.

I saw one once and commented about it.

Am I pleased?

Well, there you go.........

Many flanges to build the custom exhaust with the QTP cutouts, stainless and mild steel for various connections to headers and out back.

Made by a friend who wears tHe cloak of invisibility that anonymity offers.

Mostly 3" outlet, but 2.5" for the mild steel that the silencers and tail pipes are going to be.

Still going to be an anti-social thug this truck when done.

Got home from work tonight and got to look these flanges over properly.

I also cut and got the exit tips that will go after the valves to protect them from road debris and rain sorted.

Then I went down to the local pub to meet up with Colin, Martin's welder mate to discuss what needs doing.

All agreed and will be done in three weeks when Colin is back in the country.

2.5" flanges lead to 2.5" pipes and Flowmasters.

As this is from the tip, recycling tip that is, but it did cost me six pairs of rubberised gloves and a fiver for the wheelbarrow load of stuff excluding the Jerry can, which was going to be turned into a small booze cabinet. But I tossed it back.

I went to my friendly local tip this morning to see if I could buy a Cole of 2 ton pallet trucks to sell on at a bit of a profit....... Ooooooopsss, the guy who makes the decisions was not there.

So I managed to spend two hours chatting to the guys in the yard and collect some bits I thought were worth having.

In fact a wheelbarrow load of ****e.

In the end, I left the Jerry can that was going to be a mini bar, behind.



Came home and sorted it all out




The wood clamps will be handy when I make up the bed wood strips, joining two,strips at a time.

The electrical,fuse boxes are part of a future project that Nicola will hopefully like.

The little bottle jack up front will be incorporated into a small bearing press I want to build from bits I have around.

After cleaning, one German made 5 liters pump up pressure sprayer that will work for applying Gunk Degreaser under the cab and chassis as well as Roundup weed killer to the driveway.





Something a bit retro.... Gas heater. May well be for sale.




In my job lot of trash there was a 750 watt, 3000rpm bench grinder, Made in Holland.



It is to be an ally and stainless steel polisher....... I am going to look for 15 mm inner diameter spindles for it to get the total width down




In the pile of bits you may have noticed two,chainsaw motors too......l

They have little 35cc Pistons. Which are time consuming to remove, but possibly worth the time.




Perfect for a key ring for the garage keys, in case they go missing.





Lastly, Nicola went to see her dad this afternoon, he lives only 3 miles from us, so we pop in regularly, and he often pops in for a cuppa tea and to release Ruby, his retired Greyhound who loves to stretch her legs in the back yard.

Today he had bought me a very cool high end metal poster for my garage.

I love it.




So that is the lot for today.

Tomorrow it is Bootfair, but I suspect it will be rained out.

So time to get up close and personal with the truck, to use the new pressure sprayer.

That poster is hilarious The mini piston and connecting rod are cool too. I'll have to think of a way to use one on my project.
