Exclamation Re: Post Your Ride 67-72 Trucks

Okay this is my project truck.

a 1967 Chevy C20 longwell base with a 6 cylinder.

Needs a whole lotta work and more than I care to know all about.

But will a little time and effort and cool resource board such as this one I think I might be on the right track.

Let me know what ya think. Click on the image for more.

Right now I have a problem to sort out, either fix/replace or add a new fuel tank under the bed. Fuel is fuel and still ain't the cheapest thing. Is there one that can be fitted to have the filler neck under a license plate? Let me guess no one makes it but can be built by someone (no fab person here).

Its a unlimited products 4" cowl hood, complete bolt on. It fits like crap but looks cool far away. I really wish Harwood would make one for the 67-68. I would be all over it. The hood was about $375, the shipping hurts, was half the price.

Funny. I have a 6" cowl hood from unlimited also. I think I spent the better part of a month reworking it both to fit and look decent enough to use. The outside was very rough when I got it. You could still see the cloth hanging out from under the cowl.

Yes i'm sure it would fit better if I spent a little time on cutting it and reliving some of the bow that runs down the fenders. I'm no body guy, I can build stuff, thats as far as it goes.

Thats at Woodburn. The fastest ET is 12.0 @ 111mph @ a 1.64 60'
The more I raced it the slower it got. Toasted 3rd gear. Its all better now and hoping to hit 11.70's with the new trans.

Re: Post Your Ride 67-72 Trucks

Picked mine up about 4 weeks ago. 1972 Super LWB with buckets. Unfortunately the 402 has been replaced with a 454 but I can live with that for now. Got to get the rust under control first.

Nice Find.. With the Cheyene Package, big block and factory A/C your truck is well worth restoring. You guys in the south are lucky to still have those (almost) rust free trucks to buy..
