That's cool. A survivor. I say keep the original quad sealed beams and keep the originality. Everyone updates the grilles and lights, and you can't tell the newer trucks from the older ones.

Just my .02

Thanks yeah It is a survivor. I love the quad sealed beam head lights. they have a euro style at lmc truck id like to change them to. they are direct replacments. I want to update it a touch but I want to basically keep it looking like it does now.

Maybe I will keep the bottom lens the stock one but change the uppers to the euro lens like this:

As much as I love the '94-'98 GMC grille, it's refreshing to see a truck that's been customized, but still has the '88-'93 grille.

I can see how the dark gray would more or less blend in and get lost. Bright white however is cleeannnn. I agree it needs a wheel update. Some shinded up 5 spokes will do it good. Nice history to go with it. You've got some paper and pics to go with that? It will add to the truck.

I'm not a big fan of the quad beams. not enough light and look pretty stone age. however the front clip off my 88 is hanging in my highschool. with 2 0 0 9 one number in each headlamp. but i will never update to a 94-98 grille theres no point.

It's not Grabber Blue, but...

eBay is pretty much your only option. I've heard the quality of that kit isn't quite up to the East Coast Customs kit, but beggars can't be choosers.

I've never seen a kit for the front steps, although I have seen a couple trucks with the front steps shaved. It looked like poo. The front steps are the only thing to bring the lines of the cab and bed together and when you shave those steps, you lose that connection.

S10 kits are still relatively easy to come by. S10 kits are also bolt-on whereas these kits for the fullsize require a lot of fiberglass work.

No one makes the front step kit. What you have to do is use the stepside bed floor and put fleetside panels, with dually fenders on it. I have some pics of a fullsize, ill try to find them.

Re: How about some pics of 88-98 Trucks

Changed wheels/tires last month. An older picture had a suggestion that I get rid of the tailpipe that ran behind the right rear tire. I had that done a couple years ago. Here's two pics...one as it was when I got it from my youngest son and put the wheels he had bought in '01 on it, and the second is how it looked on Thursday. I'm still adjusting to the look of the new wheels, but I am overwhelmed by the numbers of positive comments I have gotten for such a simple change.

Truck looks good. The new wheels give it a hot rod feel.

Just like that one, none of the ones I've seen with shaved front steps were done using fleetside bedsides and dually fenders. They all used the sportside bed and just fabbed the new pieces.
