Re: What did you do to your truck today part III
Started out to be a small hose leak....replaced the hose...new hose leaked worse than the old hose....bought better clamps....still leaked....swapped radiators....sealed up and no leaks for a day....drive it this morning....leaking again....tank blew a hole. Take that radiator out and install this one. lol FINALLY no more leaks....oh crap....I said it. No I'll have to eat my words. lol

Re: What did you do to your truck today part III
Not worked on the truck........ BUT.
Well....... Today was just incredible. After Clems awesome party yesterday, he and Kim made breakfast of pancakes, sausage and coffee for 12 of us. After this, Clem, Bomp, McMurphy, Martin "mjh1965" Myself, Peter Hoffman and Jeff Falk all drove over to Mike Losh's shop where we all gave a hand lifting, cleaning and drinking beer and generally being amazed at his build, detail and finish on Boosted Bertha. Joined later by Sarah his wife, it was just such an amazing day. Build thread. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=643425 What a privilege hanging with you guys. Now at Clems playing 8 Ball Pool with McMurphy, Bomp, Clem and Martin. Life rarely gets better than this.

Re: What did you do to your truck today part III
now the truck drives perfect at all speeds right up to 80-85 it just settled right in with almost no effort or adjustment needed. I didn't want to push it faster just to be safe but it showed no signs of wobble or shimmy or shake totally rattle free I was so happy almost got misty when i noticed driving along easy at 35-40mph i can feel and hear a rubbing noise from the front end. is that what happens when you adjust it too far? Do i need to adjust it back some lil it stops rubbing not sure what is rubbing yet haven't had time to look deeper into it. I was thing of changing the upper control arms with the tubular ones from brothers
http://www.brotherstrucks.com/prodin...=UCA7200&qty=1 good idea or no? |

Re: What did you do to your truck today part III
Seems you can run these trucks without oil in the trannies. Mine was bone dry and did it make noise. hahahha. I put oil in it today. The 3 speeds are tough. I drove it 130 miles yesterday and the gears were grinding and the trans sounded like poping pop corn when going slow. Time to get that 700 in there.

Re: What did you do to your truck today part III
Changed the Rear Shocks. Seems both left side shocks on my truck were dead. Handles real nice now. I put 4 Belltech Nitro 2 shocks in.

Re: What did you do to your truck today part III
I thought I'd spend a 1/2 hour fixing up my cobbed together alternator bracket.
I like the passenger side and have a lwp so I used the stock late model L bracket. I have early heads tho so made a rear mount which uses the pump to block bolts. TA DA. Lines up perfectly. Then discovered my shiney new chrome top bracket doen't fit--period. Ths stupid thing lines up right in the middle of the alternator boss. Back to cobbing up a spacer and longer allen head, which will require removing the fan to install. Who designs this stuff? W |

Re: What did you do to your truck today part III
Paid import duties on a package of brake goodies that has travelled thousands of miles to get to me, only to be held for ransom by our postal service
....and shelled out another few hundred on more parts for the front suspension rebuild, coming to me courtesy of a certain forum vendor

Thank you, I made them so they fold out of the way when not in use.

Re: What did you do to your truck today part III
Sold mine.
Got tired of paying people to do crap work only to hire someone else that did crap work. Too old and too easy I guess. IF I do another one I will buy the tools and do it all myself.
