It has a nice sound from what I've heard so far in a few short runs. Most importantly it doesn't have the ricer-fart-can sound you hear out of so many Honduhs. I also have a "racing muffler" (was actually used on a race car and is titanium/$300) that fits the exact dims as the Flowmaster that's on it now ...for when I want to go a little more toward the dark-side

Oh man, so great! And the fact that there are no weird noises is such a huge relief since an ebay engine purchase is always a gamble. You do your due diligence, but in the end you don't know till your run it!

How hard is it to run the wire bundles through the mesh tube? Looks great. One of those jobs you want to get done soon after starting so you don't forget where you left off weeks ago.

So true! I had a week to do this (mostly the ECU wiring not yet shown), and I'm glad I did it all at once. I've also been labeling the crap out of it!

The expandable mesh is easy:
  • Don't strip wires before feeding through
  • Fold wire ends back before feeding if there's room
  • Invert ends of mesh (or melt) to prevent fraying before final shrink wrap

There was a lot more hours into getting the ECU wired than you tell from what I've shown. Even had to buy a plug/pin kit ($60 ) just for one plug...

It works ok. The hair-band is on there because the first locked position is too tight--squeezes the insulation. Funny you mention it because I just bought one of these:

There's only a few interior body-harness connectors to do and I have plenty of the Delphi stuff. I like the quality. The seals are over-kill on interior stuff, I know. Oh well!

I must have forgotten the reason for the second dash cluster. Are you driving the instruments from one to the other or is that just an opticle thing?

I used the speedo needle actuator out of the RSX cluster to convert my the Minx speedo to electric. This way it can use the existing Honda VSS signal instead of going to a mechanical sender (ECU needs the VSS signal too). I have to run the VSS signal through the RSX cluster PCB (inside cluster housing) to drive the needle actuator. That, along with a SpeedoHealer and it appears to be working! The RSX cluster will be hidden behind the dash. Added bonus; the digital odometer should count up as the VSS/miles tick up. The LCD could also be remote mounted, though I don't want to see anything digital... Other lights/indicators could be remoted as well.

The other option was to go with the S2000 cluster, which is novel, but not my taste:

Dang, with all those fancy toys, the wiring SHOULD be a piece of cake! With all the fancy tools, I'm shocked you don't have a LOCKING hemostat! String? REALLY??? ...which reminds me, gotta get me one o' those!

I noticed you are doing the wiring before painting. Judging from your past work I guess you will be removing it all before painting...

It locks ...and will crush the insulation at the first locked position. And it's not a low-tech string ...it's a hair-tie
Yes, disassembly before paint

Congrats on getting it running.

Nice work on the wiring. Where did you get the weatherpack firewall pass-thru and terminal ends? I need something similar.
