Re: 68 K-10 SWB build thread - project Money Pit...pics galore!
Truck moved out to the new shop, haven't had (made) the time to run electricity though...
I did make a parts run though... picked up two loaded doors, and rear glass with trim (all soft ray glass) for $90. Doors aren't bad for a PA truck, some rust in the pinch welds around the inside but it will get me started on rocker and cab corner install. The back glass would have been $100 new so i'm doing ok for getting the rest and a key for the doors! Better pics in a day or two.

Is that being parted out or did you snag the whole thing?

Re: 68 K-10 SWB build thread - project Money Pit...pics galore!
Possibly a tailgate. That one i got with you at carlisle will not close/latch on the right side? Not sure what is up bed is square and gate is straight but is like 3/4" off on the right. Nothing binding that i can see and have made beyond every adjustment. Thinking it is rust that has changed it have a couple decent bulges on the left. Tried the other one i have and it is fine other than bent at the bottom. At this point dont really need more work other than to just paint one and put on.

I'm not going to make it, really busy at work and Archery opens up on Sat morning...
He had a tailgate but said it had a crease across the lower face of it. I'll send you his number, he lives in Mountville.

Ok, not in a rush. If need be I might tear the one apart to see what's going on?
Good luck sat, hope to be done by 730a.m.! But know that won't happen maybe by noon?

Re: 68 K-10 SWB build thread - project Money Pit...pics galore!
6 weeks of disappointing Archery hunting. Saw plenty of deer, just suck at shooting them I guess.
Rifle in 2 weeks, new scope should be here tomorrow.. trench is complete for pole barn, electric coming soon. My boy asked today when I was going to work on the truck...

Super dooper slow progress, if you can even call it that. Getting my lighting and electrical drops installed in my free time. Decided to install one of the new doors, they aren't in bad shape besides the rust in the pinch areas. Might look into getting them dipped, pending price.

Tho's trusses are just crazy looking, never seen anything like them! But i would love having the extra height in the shop. gonna save that pic for future reference.

Re: 68 K-10 SWB build thread - project Money Pit...pics galore!
I went with a tray truss to get the height up to 12' with 10' walls. Mine are 7/12 pitch but you could do others. Your rafter supplier can spec them out on a computer, I left the area over the open garage doors with storage trusses. They have a larger chord to hold weight. The overall truss upgrade was maybe $500 more. I didn't want 12' walls since this is a residential area. I have a build thread on garagejournal.com

Re: 68 K-10 SWB build thread - project Money Pit...pics galore!
thanks, the new garage is a dream come true... took me a deployment on the other side of the world to finally realize what I wanted, then I still changed plans 20 times!
As far as building, i'm learning as I go. Plenty of mistakes made but that's part of the fun. I don't owe a dime on the truck or parts so I have no pressure to finish it. It's not the destination but the journey...

Re: 68 K-10 SWB build thread - project Money Pit...pics galore!
Hunting season is almost over, finally connected today after a terrible archery season... terrible because I can't hit a dear with an arrow!
Electricity being pulled through conduit on Sunday... getting closer to having a usable shop... Wife and kids gave me a few cool garage signs to hang up as well..
