Backspacing is huge. Something like 6" This truck needed a lot to work with the portal axles but it still proved too much to package without a spacer. Ultimately, there was only one source for a drop-valley 17" hoop that would even come close to working with a factory 16.5" Chevy center... so I made it work.

You can somewhat see the caliper clearance in this photo. It's a Ford Superduty rotor and caliper conversion for this application.

I bought a '68 Burb at the end of June that had truck ralleys . I changed those out for some I had with some 31-10.50 tires and put some 245-60's up front . Then before I put the new 275-60's out back I acquired some center caps for some car style ralleys ...so I bought a set of 15x10's for the rear 15x8's front and here we have the finished result.

my 1972 Cheyenne Super 20 with new 9.50x 16.5R Firestone Transforce 10 ply tires on the original CE7 6.75 X 16.5 wheels and the spare wheel is under the truck.
