There are a few trucks in the Tri-five body that turn my head and this is probably #1. Going through the garage I found some truck magazines 11 years old (and older) that I saved all these years. I've been looking at them off and on for the last few days and I would have to say that from what I've paid attention to, your truck has set the standard for my personal tastes and every truck of this bodystyle will be compared to it. I'm HOPING to build a 67/68 someday and just reading your thread has accelerated my knowledge of what it'll take to get to where I want to be. Although you're afraid to scratch it, don't be afraid to ENJOY it. There are a lot of folks that would like to be in your shoes and you seem to be a genuinely kind, humble and friendly person. Keep that up. Yeah, take it to the shows but every now and then take it to the park or just out for a little cruise. You never know who you've inspired to build one. Kids young and old alike will appreciate what that truck means and could mean if they had one of their own. I think that's what makes part of this truck so special to the rest of us. It's been a pleasure reading, watching, learning and laughing along the way of this thread. It was an experience in itself. If you ever get the itch to bring 'er out to GoodGuys Fort Worth (TX), I'll be sure to bring a towel so I don't drool over the paint. I've caught the last two shows since being stationed out here and I have to say...Texas LOVES their trucks!! Haha. Later Cal.
Thanks for the kind words Blitz! I have enjoyed sharing the build with all my friends here just as much as some of you all have enjoyed following this thread. Also, just to let you know, when the sun shining and the weather is nice I take her out a cruise the street, heck that's the fun part!

I am a new member and I started reading this thread for some ideas and inspiration. Thud, that was the sound of my jaw hitting the table on the first page. Well 4 hours later and 53 pages later I am inspired and impressed. Of course I had to fend off the wife a couple of times, it was like reading a really good book, I couldn't put it down. Excellent work and great pics. If i ever get out that way I would like to meet up with some of the guys and swap some stories.

I know this might sound like a canned answer but almost every truck build on this site is cool to me. What I mean is all of these truck are at different stages into their builds and well building old classic truck is just a cool thing so most all of them still inspire me! So my answer would be, 99.9% are awesome and 0.1% I would have to scratch my head and think to myself, "Man what was this dude thinking" but hay, what I may not like everyone else might.

Hi Cal
How do you like your rear end after you rebuilt it with the posi Camaro gears.
I got my S10 4X4 Blazer axle, and I was wondering what the manufacturer's name is on your calipers.
I did some online shopping for custom S10 Blazer Axle parts but haven't found anything I liked.

It's works fine for what I use the truck for. If I had built the truck for the 1/4 mile then I would have gone with a 9 inch or a custom built Moser. I'm running the stock calipers.

No plans for me right now. I'm going to be helping out a friend finish up his 55 Bel Air. He's bring over to my house this weekend so that's going to keep me bussy. When his car gets here I'll post a few pics.

Re: 58 GMC Project

Okay, so some of you might remember last summer I was trying to head down to so cal for Brothers truck show and well, I didn’t make it since the truck I was using was under sized and under powered and started to over heat. So I sold my F-150 and bought a F-250, yeah I know it's a Ford, but Ford's sell cheap out here on the west coast since everyone out here what's a Chevy. Anyway I picked up the F-250 with a 460 big block for $1,700 with 86k org. miles on it. So this weekend I pulled my truck down to an invitational indoor car show. The F-250 pulled my truck and trailer with no problem and almost like there was not a trailer behind me. Any way here's a pic of my new tow vehicle getting r4eady to leave with the 58 behind me. I will take a few shots of the 58 at the show and post them.
