Re: Nostalgia - Pics in Time.
Some more I gathered from Facebook:
Someone said in the comments that this place (pic below) is still in business in CO. Pic below was said to be Colorado Springs: Pic below was said to have been taken in 1968: Guy said this was old pics (below) of his truck back in the day. The lady, Fannie Mae Rudd, and her husband bought this 66 new off the lot in Los Angeles. Her husband passed in 1997, and she drove it until 2008. It has been sitting ever since, but he's working on getting it back on the road. Caption for the pic below read, "Tumbleweeds are piled up at the construction site of Country Gardens north of Pasco in May 1966." Two pics below are a dealership in Concord, NC circa 1965: Caption read, "Greenhorn Enduro, California. Don Evans #105, Ken DuVall #5."

Re: Nostalgia - Pics in Time.
Found this reading about Crosley’s of all things. I love the extended bumper, tailgate ramp. Could load it up in the smallest of ditches. Also has A/C.
Doesn’t look like it’s overloaded at all!

Re: Nostalgia - Pics in Time.
Found this picture recently from 1968...My 3 brothers...I must have been in the house, I was 2 years old. Great picture of my brothers...Not sure what my brother Timmy is doing...someone probably told him to open his eyes and he is being spiteful....

Re: Nostalgia - Pics in Time.
Thanks!
I found this picture when I was reading an article online about restaurants that no longer exist. A lot of nice old cars and one nice Chevy LWB C10. |

Re: Nostalgia - Pics in Time.
I remember burger Chef...don't think I ever ate there, but I do remember it.
That was in Schenectady, NY...my wife said her father worked at Carrol's in the late 60's when he was 16. |

The Times Picayune did a story on our Local Coffee Company called Community. Good taste in delivery vehicles.

Re: Nostalgia - Pics in Time.
Here’s one supporting an X-15 mission in 1961. One of the B-52s that carried/launched the X-15 does a flyover after a mission.

Re: Nostalgia - Pics in Time.
Very Cool! What a great picture! The X-15 and that early B-52A with the dayglo paint. That photograph looks to have been be taken taken at Edwards AFB. That B-52A was and is at the Pima Air Museum in Tucson, AZ for many years and now has so much corrosion they are not sure what to do with it from what we were told by someone that volunteers there. Very expensive to fix even for just display. You can see it at Pima Air Museum in Tucson in the back area where they started to take off all the paint to figure it all out I guess.

Re: Nostalgia - Pics in Time.
Very cool picture, thanks for sharing. I used to live at Edwards AFB and then lived in China Lake off and on for years. About halfway between the two is a tiny mining town named Johannesberg, must've driven thru it a million times (and usually behind a gravel truck from Trona...), as well as all the back roads and shortcuts surrounding it. Back in 2004, I was invited to the dedication of the Mike Adams X-15 memorial out in the middle of the desert. His final X-15 flight crashed in the desert just east of Johannesberg in 67 and, at the speed it was traveling, scattered parts for miles. The memorial is located at the approximate point of impact and is made of some of the same material used to build the X-15. I don't know if the cool pic of the X-15 above is the one flown by Mike Adams, but there were only a handful of them built. He was an American Hero if there ever was one and was posthumously awarded his astronaut wings. Sorry this has no truck relevance, but near and dear nonetheless..

Found this photo of the Astrodome at my parents house dated 5/31/65.
