Today it was pretty nice out other than the wind is crazy! I decided I wanted to put my other wheels on and see how it looks. If I have the extra money, I think I'm going to put DRW hubs on to move the rear wheels in some. But then I'll have to run disc brakes and they seem to be big $$$ for D80's. So, it might have to be the way it is for now.




They are M/T Baja A/T 305/60 18s on M/T classic II's.

LMAO! I like the steel wheels too, but getting the hub caps on and off without scratching the wheels or damaging the caps is a PITA! These wheels will look better when I wear these tires out and get 325/80 18s some day when I have the pesos laying around.

That looks awesome! and if you find yourself leaning back towards the steelies, id gladly take those M/Ts off your hands. that was just the brand of ethnic i was looking for. (BTW, you can fit big brakes now...) i may go with 17" black steel just to save some coin for the first go round, but i know exactly what black aluminum 18"s i want

Thanks. From that angle I can see my front axle needs to go forward some. I thought it did, but with these you can really see it. Yeah, the big discs may have to wait. All the rear disc with e brake inside them, parts around here are dumb expensive. The front might not be bad to do though.

one way of doing it without the emergency setup is use front disks and calipers of a 1977 K20 the hole in that disk is big enough to fit on the back of the dually hub with longer wheelstuds
you need to make youre own plates for the calipers and weld those on the axle
if you want emergency brakes you need to find rearbrake calipers of a certan caddilac ... think it was an el dorado those have mecanical handbrakes build in
i myself found the rebuild calipers for those but its hard to find the bolt on handbrake lever thingy

Thanks whatyaknow. I knew about the chevy rotors and such. But there are 2 problems with them. 1 the chevy rotor hub center needs to be machined out a lot to fit on a d80 hub and when you take them that far it makes the chevy rotors prone to cracking. 2nd, I'm not sold on the cadillac single piston calipers being up to the tasks I'm going to ask this truck to do. I may leave it as is for now.

I'm also thinkng about going air ride 4 link in the rear since I have to add traction bars. I'll be half way there on a 4 link and I already have some air bags. We shall see where it goes.

They bring more than what I want to pay for used wheels and they're 17s. Those tires are pricey in the size I'd want.

Hey now, that sounds like a keen idea!

what bags are you looking at? i'm sure we have the opportunity for many good discussions on this front. at some time in the future(and it may not be to far since i cannot quit thinking about it) i will be designing a bunch of dana 80 and 72 chevy link mounts and bag mounts.

I have a 2002 Dodge at the shop that I put a Kelderman kit on last fall. It will take some time to make the brackets, but it's well worth it in the end. I can post pics of that set up. it utilizes the spring and shackle hangers too. The shackle hangers were a mount for each air bags's ping tank. The front spring hangers are where the top link hooked in, and then you add a lower link bracket ahead of the spring hanger. I have wanted to do this for a while and now might just be the time. That dodge rides so nice it isn't believable.
