What was that truck used for? Mine was a mason / hardscape contractor.
The light green 68 shorty was originally a forestry truck in Asheville, NC. Originally darn green, it was painted light green by the original owner after he retired and the forestry department gave him the truck. Though the utility boxes were a dealer add-on and period correct for this truck, they were added much later in life. The truck actually left the dealership as a stepside. The truck is currently under the knife receiving a host of upgrades that will positively affect the look and drivability of the truck, but the boxes will stay and likely get a facelift.

Im trying to get "re"started on my '72 Blazer (with a '68 clip). Its been sitting covered up for the past 5 years. I pulled it out this fall and took it for a little drive and discovered my brakes have developed an issue. So, I hope to get that fixed this Spring and put some miles on it this summer.

Your truck is one of my favorites. You don't post it that much but when I do see it pop up on here or Instagram, I always stare at it for a few minutes. I didn't realize you were doing some upgrades to it. Looking forward to seeing what you do with it.

Man, that means a lot coming from you. Your truck is one of my favorites (especially when you factor in some of the unconventional ways you achieved your desired ride height).

As for my '68, it's been a love/hardly love relationship. I traded for it and got caught up on the "cool" factor while overlooking some of the signs that point to major, major rust issues and shotty suspension work. That said, it had to be completely overhauled. You actually may not recognize it once I'm finished but it'll be a better truck and much cooler in my opinion.

Haha thanks! I’m excited to see it. You’re keeping the utility sides at least, right? 😉

Here is mine 68 c 20. Thinking of painting the inner grill black. Tried searching for info on doing this. Should I go flat black or gloss? I don't know about the durability of a flat paint. Opinions?
