a simple to hook up , clean system with about 25% of the wiring that would be on a factory harness re-work and built in controller for all the adjustments

Very very cool. I've been waiting for that as well. They're not bad for the price either.

Re: Slosh Tubz new company project "Square Peg" frame laying 1987 GMC Jimmy

like the electric controll for the transmission if you have to buy an aftermarket controller for that too it can still become pricey unles you have a mecanical trans

Re: Slosh Tubz new company project "Square Peg" frame laying 1987 GMC Jimmy

you might need to read up a little on the new injection setup before buying a transcontroller , from wat i can remember you need some leads of the injection setup hooked up to the trans computer to have it work propperly
think it was gaspedal positioning sensor enginevacuum? and rpm might allso need some engine temperature reading
im suprized msd doesnt make a add on for that , then again they might allready be working on that

I hope I don't interrupt the well-justified Christmas euphoria (I'm envious)---but I thought of you when I saw the thread below. Since you have become a framery practitioner, and a Cadillac owner; you gotta dig this 57 Eldog frame from the Roadster Shop

Re: Slosh Tubz new company project "Square Peg" frame laying 1987 GMC Jimmy

I've read several reviews and opinions of stand-alone E transmission controllers from members on this forum. One good thing, ya got more room in a Jimmy for controller boxes than in a C truck!

Re: Slosh Tubz new company project "Square Peg" frame laying 1987 GMC Jimmy

the compushift one is about the best in the time i was investigating options to run a 4L80E
they allso have an option for flapper pedals on the steering for up and downshifting like they have on porsches and other high end cars was just checking real quick and their price is still close to that of a small second hand car
http://www.twistmachine.com/index.ph...FYXMtAodqwsAoA
i have to say there been a few years past since and i bet there a lot more controllers available now

Not that stand out in my mind. I just remember a good referral on the TCI. The other ones are names I'm not familiar with. Plus, these things are kind of a moving target, as they evolve as time passes.
