The wheels were 18 x 8. Funny story about the wheels. This was back in '96 when everyone was running 15 x 10 with low pro's, big wheels weren't even a thing yet. I originally ordered these wheels in a 17" which was the largest diameter you could get at the time. When i went to pick these up they had a set of 18" sitting on the showroom floor. So i ended up buying that set to put on the truck and sold the 17s for half what i paid for them.

Thanks. It's crazy how much the wheel scene has changed! I like the looks of 18's on this body style.

Re: How about some pics of 88-98 Part II

I remember in Southern California , the late '80's, a friend was one of the 1st designers of the tall wheels... He pulled up at my friend's studio in a muscle car with 22" wheels. We thought the wheels were wagon wheels!!

It was Bruce Budnik.

That's cool. Now 22's are almost the norm these days.

This is my 90 1500 sport, she's got a mild built 350 and a little bit of work. Been my baby since high school.

Great truck!! I am glad to see the worn out paint.... Better to leave it alone, than put on a cheap repaint.

I sold my old '88 to a collector in Germany. I dumped a ton of new/ original stuff into it, and the money into it was great, but the exporter was happy the worn paint was original.

Replace the front & rear lenses, and see how the look of the truck will 'pop'.....

How many miles on yours?

Re: How about some pics of 88-98 Part II

Body has 259k, motor is about 100k, motor was blown when I bought it. My uncle and I dropped a crate motor in her. She needs rockers and cab corners, other than that she's in pretty good shape, inside of the bed is immaculate, has had the cover and a bed mat in it for 28 years now.

Been looking for a 400 to build for it, no luck on that so far.

Are you looking for just the block of a 400?

I may know of some people in So. Cal that will have one.

( I had 392,000 when it sold ... also with a clean bed!)

Re: How about some pics of 88-98 Part II

Yeah the block would be all I'd need, don't have anywhere to store it at the moment however, just moved in September off of a 20 acre piece of land to a house in the city... I miss my big old shed.

The 350 I'm running now is pretty mean, but I'm a bit of a speed freak lol.

Re: How about some pics of 88-98 Part II

I was doomed from the start, hehe. My grandpa and uncle both raced, we spent pretty much every weekend at the track...

Sad to say my first love was a Ford *shudder*. Always been a truck guy though.

Cool..... I knew 'Mongoo$e"...(RIP)... I assisted in the painting of this Duster to recreated the original one. ( This body was not the original funny car body)

Tom passed away last month.

That's pretty cool, and sad...

So you're a body work guy? Or just kind of an all 'rounder?

All arounder.... I helped friend Kenny Youngblood on both Hot Wheels funny cars. I masked.... & a little brush work. But Kenny is the genius. He was original designer/painter on the old funny cars.

Opps.... I am getting off the subject.....
