Re: My 52 GMC Build
I've been creeping around this thread for quite some time. I really like how the bed wood turned out! Great build.

Re: My 52 GMC Build
Well my cruse control unit came in I'm hoping to install that next week. This weekend I'm taking the truck to my pinstriper to get some lettering done on the doors, he is about 2.5 hrs away. And And we have a new family member..... Our french bulldog named CJ (after my 50 year old Jeep CJ5) he is 11 weeks old. Just got him Monday afternoon.

First car show this year will be Unfinished Nationals June 4th in Paris Ont. then taking the fam to Vanfest for the weekend in Aylmer Ont. June 9-11. That will be our first camping of the year too. Maybe I'll see some of you there.

Re: My 52 GMC Build
Had a great drive up and back from my friend Adams place "Petts pinstriping"
CJ our new puppy was a super star, he fell asleep about 5 min into the drives. The truck turned out amazing I'm so happy with how it turned out. He even was able to uncover the original lettering on the passenger side of the hood, 65 year old paint is amazing. 1st pic is my truck when it was in service

Re: My 52 GMC Build
In our travels we came across this little nugget of heaven. They are all for sale and don't seem to bad of price. We stopped in and talked to the guy over a beer for about 45 min on our way home.

Re: My 52 GMC Build
Ya I didn't even think it was possible to uncover.
Thanks Jim. It's nice to see potential projects close by. Thanks guys I'm supper happy. I didn't buy a fire truck but wanted to keep the history of where it came from.

Re: My 52 GMC Build
Today I started installing my cruse control. I must have tried 6 different spots, I am getting very limited on space and settled on inside under the dash. Gives me access to the setup switches and gives the cable a straight shot to the throttle, also keeps under the hood tidy. I figure with the sound of the diesel I'll never hear the servo motor, I hope.

Re: My 52 GMC Build
That is awesome on the original lettering being uncovered! It looks great! Nice stash of projects you found too. They all don't look to be in too terrible of condition.

We could see the lettering was under the orange but I had no idea it could ever be uncovered. All the stuff there was very fixable most ran.

Re: My 52 GMC Build
So today I got the cruse cable hooked up, I'll tie or trim the cable once it works and started to run the wires. Also installed the directional signal cruse arm that replaced the original gm one that I can use in my Jimmy

Re: My 52 GMC Build
So I finished hooking up the 5 wires required for my cruse control today and took it for a test drive. After pulling over 3 times to adjust 3 of the 12 switches for set up, it works AMAZING!!!!!! No surging, holds the speed bang on! So far works better than any factory cruse I ever used.

Re: My 52 GMC Build
Saturday morning I went to pick up my Dad's car witch he gave me, so now I'm the caretaker. It's a 1951 MG TD I helped him restore this car 25 years ago before I could even drive. To go with that I am now going to build a shop in my backyard. The plan is for 30X40

Re: My 52 GMC Build
Sunday after the rain stopped I drove my truck and my friend Joe drove my Dad's MG to the car show. We had a great day. Not as many vehicles this year (weather) but still very cool cars and trucks.
